I love these kind of days and using the same mixing bowl/mixer for several recipes. If I plan it right I can make 3-4 recipes in the same bowl without having to wash in between because the flavors don't clash! Today I also made up scones (mixed berry), choc chip muffins, and homemade bread for dinner tonight! I hope to try an oatmeal cup recipe soon for my kiddos and yours looks really good and so do those scones and pumpkin cookies you made....yum! Thank you for the video!

If you don’t want to do the constant trading out cookie sheets, scoop the cookies out on to a tray and flash freeze them. Bake them a dozen or two at a time when you need them. Takes less time and space in the freezer
@Amanda-kw1vi3 жыл бұрын
Yes but then you have to bake them.... And most of us don't have room in the freezer to chill or freeze dough, hence why I don't make cookies that require any of that. Good idea for those that have room and want to bake later, some ppl don't realize they can freeze dough.

If I baked cookies and they were crumbly, I'd put on ice cream as topping. If I baked cakes and they have not risen in middle I filled with Jam or syrup and coconut. Large sponges raised a lot in middle plain covering white icing or butter cream. Use a different colour at middle raised part and make it look as if it is sliding down like lava from a volcano. You won't have to let anyone know they didn't turn out as you meant them too. Let's face it they get broken up going down the hole ( the mouth into stomach). I couldn't afford to waste, I've even had to strain gravy and custard.

@@angelapattillo6299 you can put rice into your blender and blend it up to make rice flour. This is what my daughter in law says she does bc she's got that illness too. I've been trying to find other ways to help people feed their kids bc I read reports at the UN regarding a world wide food shortage. I've seen a 50# bag of rice marked $23 that was purchased in Killeen TX nearby Ft Hood. But not on the base bc I did ask just to verify. What about oatmeal? Oatmilk? Another 50# bag has more protein than all purpose flour. If anyone has a deep freezer that's broken down? You can usually pickup those for free and store 8x 50# bags of food in there so rats can't get to it. Sugar, flour, oats, rice, etc. Idk if you live with an extended family but I've been looking for land to build a new ranch to keep everyone together and out of state care. These times are changing...

I'm with you..as I've gotten older, I dont like chocolate at all anymore. I can eat dark chocolate, but the milk chocolate tastes terrible to me now. Ty for bringing us along. My mom taught me to put my flour in the freezer..it helps it keep so much longer. I wanted to tell you too that I catch myself all the time now saying "gather your fragments". I've always done it without thinking about it because it's how i was raised and i hate to waste anything, but now i think of you every time it comes to mind. I've been telling others too. Amy, yesterday I made buckeyes. It calls for chocolate melting wafers. Ok, so I followed the recipe to a t, I mean it’s so simple, can’t mess it up. Well, I don’t know why they are doing this, but what happens is when I go to get one to eat, the chocolate melts right away in my hands. I also remember they don’t have to stay put in the refrigerator. Well, these I have to. What did I do wrong, did I use the wrong chocolate? I have got to get myself a kitchen aid thingie!! lol What a time saver I’m sure! xoxo

Can you make these recipes diabetic friendly?
@kristinatidwell65633 жыл бұрын
Not really. You should stick with meat dairy & produce. the flour will raise your glucose thru the roof. Are you hypoglycemic or diabetic? My cousin eats cottage cheese with hummus to keep her protein levels up. Idk if that's something new to try? It actually tastes decent to me, but I like to eat cottage cheese once in awhile. My Mom keeps a dozen eggs boiled in the fridge and eats one every morning with a jello or yogurt container. I've done that too. I keep an egg container on top of the egg stack that's labeled "BOILED" so the kids wont try to use it for cooking. I hope this helps make things better for you. I've tried to tell Mom to eat 2 eggs in the morning but she's her own person! :P Have a Blessed Day.

Instead of regular spaghetti noodles? You could try wheat spaghetti noodles, or if you have a mixer like Martha Stewart? As a white christmas gift that was passed around the family one year, I've personally used a cheaper version of a french fry maker just substituted squash instead of a potato. You could use a squash to make spiralized squash instead of noodles I'm thinking of zucchini or butternut squash for some reason, I think I've eaten it in restaurants a time or two.

The temperature at which things both boil and bake is different at different altitudes. For instance: at sea level water boils at 212 degrees, at 2000 feet it boils at 208, at 6000 feet it boils at 201 at 8000 feet it boils at 197. That's a big difference.
