I always felt that my mom didn’t really know what I liked growing up, so it’s nice to see a momma out there who knows exactly what her kids are into. I can relate. I don't think my parents ever listened to what we actually wanted for Christmas so it always felt rather disappointing on Christmas day knowing you weren't going to get anything related to something you wanted. I know that sounds horrible but, I was a kid.

I’m a mom and I struggle a lot with gift giving. It’s a real struggle for me. I always have to straight up ask what my kids want because I feel incredibly lost even though I know their interests. Don’t be too hard on your mom. She may just not be a good gift giver by nature.

Kerri Egle There’s nothing wrong with struggling to give gifts, I’m totally one of those. But what I meant is that my mom didn’t even bother to ask or pay attention, and then would give me things that she liked. You’re at least showing enough interest to ask your kids, which is great! You’re trying and that’s all that matters!

My sons birthday IS Christmas Day. We do Christmas in the morning and completely take down Christmas (while he plays with toys) and set up for birthday in the afternoon. Complete separation. He loves it. He turns 9 this Christmas and no complaints yet!

I've been waiting for this video. I loved your "What my kids are getting for Christmas" type of videos from last year and a year before - and I don't even have children! Also, I love watching these videos knowing that 99% of the presents I am giving this year are wrapped and hidden in my room. I think I only have two more last minute gifts to wrap. Oh, and I need to go to store on Chrstmas Eve morning 'cos my sister really wanted to get some extra fruit as her "snacky" part of her gift (even though we'll have fruit in the kichen as well) and you can't really buy fruit a few weeks before Christmas. My 3 year old got the fisher price tablet for her first birthday and still plays with it. She does have my old kindle but she’s one of those kids who plays with everything she has, she’s a multi tasked like her momma lol she will “watch” the tablet and play babies or puzzles or really anything. We like background noise.

Travis is going to be so busy. I’m with you-stuff it all in a gift bag. This year I stuffed things into dollar store stockings, stapled the top closed, and mailed it off. Pretty easy way to avoid wrapping. Not that I’m lazy!

Just went shopping (Saturday, at 10:00pm (so right after kiddos are in bed) the weekend before Christmas at Walmart lol) to get a couple things. Shelves were EMPTY.
