Wrap presents with us! Today I'm sharing a vlog I filmed with Travis about two days before Christmas. He's an excellent wrapper and I leave that in his department. I'm just the happy helper :) I also share our Christmas budget of about $75-$150 per kiddo, depending on their age. Some years we do a large family gift (like last year we got new to us bikes and gear and new puppies). This year we let everyone enjoy opening lots of independent gifts. I thought the same thing!! My daughter has two baby dolls of color plus some other dolls. I’ve always felt it was important. I’ve had people ask me why I got my white daughter “black dolls”. And my response is always because 1. It’s a toy. 2. People come in all colors why shouldn’t my children’s toys reflect the world? Playing mommy helps teach her to be a mommy later and I’m pretty sure all babies deserve love.

+Carlyn Prato I remember that tanning mom who tanned her skin black (dark) hated her white skin. maybe she heard some anti white stuff when she was younger. who knows. getting black dolls for white kids is ok. just don't let her hate her white skin. she may be like, black skin is better since in the liberal universities they teach that the whites are evil colonizers with white privilege. watched one dude on youtube saying he hated being white. I wonder what the put in his head in college. anyway all races are wonderfully made by God.

Amen! I was very disturbed about that video (a few years back) where that mom gave her daughters a doll they really wanted, but thought it’d be “funny” to give them the one with dark skin and filmed them; all while she laughed and patronized her daughters to get a rise out of them. It was disgusting. I’m in an interracial marriage, I’m white.. my husband is Dominican and cuban, and was just horrified by that moms behavior. I thank GOD that color means nothing to HIM and that we will live in a place enternally where racism is in eternal death with satan.

I remember my parents giving my sister (who is younger) and I a budget for Christmas every year. My sister would always find the most expensice thing she could and I would always get the most bang for my buck. I remember one year her sitting all pouty on Christmas morning in the jacket she had to have (that was her only gift) while I opened a mound of presents, lol.

This was great!!! We did the same with ours. My oldest is 15 almost 16 and we spent more but gave him less. He understood of course. Our little ones are much younger and just really getting into playing and using their imaginations (they are 2 and 1). I love your videos. I even bought little House On The Prairie books to start reading to my children.

I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I know you've done hauls before but it was great to see your other half and I she'd a few tears at the end seeing pics of the older boys. As they get older it's very rare you can get a pic of them. Family is beautiful

I love that you and Travis both do the gifts! My husband wraps with the bag it comes in. My stocking has been filled with Walmart shopping bags and bullets for my Glock. My two children are in there 40's. The oldest will be 50 in less than three years. I enjoy watching your video's so much. Especially this one. I only have two grandchildren and they are both in their 20's and have been moved away from home for over two years. Your personality is so good and you and your husband are amazing. My 17 year old had such a tiny pile compared to his 8 year old sister but he was so appreciative . I think when they start working they understand how much their items cost and are happy to receive things they aren't spending their hard earned money on!

I love to see a family buy their kids a reasonable amount of presents for Christmas so many family’s on U-Tube way over do it. I have always bout my kids PJ’s for Christmas and they would open them on Christmas Eve so they will have them on Christmas morning to open gifts. I love you family.

My 18 month old got the same kind of toy box as Daniel, just the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse version. It's wonderful! We also do pajamas on Christmas Eve, along with a new Christmas movie and hot cocoa/snacks. We watch the movie together for Christmas Eve.

Domestic Passions omgosh yes! I noticed that too. I use to be able to buy 200 for each child and it would end up being so much. Then it ended up being quality over quantity. It was a hard lesson for me. Also a great lesson at the same time. 😊

Watch out for the mini Meccano builder sets at dollar tree! They are exactly the same except they have 1 vehicle each in them. I got some for my nephew for Christmas.
