Oh, you guys, I had such a lovely menu picked out for this week, but everything fell apart and nothing went as planned!!! This is what our large family of 9 ate in a week when Momma was hurting and then some children left the home! Some meals were nice and others were just quick and thrown together last minute. There are also low-carb/diabetic friendly meals that help keep my blood sugar in check.

I don't know why anyone would comment on Sarah making supper. What better way to learn life skills than cooking in your mama's kitchen. Sarah has more cooking, baking, and canning skills than 90% of girls her age. And the most important thing is she LOVES it!!! 💜💚💜

If more children were raised this way we wouldn’t have so many entitled adults. I wish I had raised my kids more like this. Your family just blessed my heart and makes me wish there were more families like yours around. Many blessings. And Sarah. You go girl. Anybody can see how much joy and pleasure you get out of cooking and gardening and sewing. You amaze me. I didn’t learn to sew till I was almost 50.

I so agree. These children are learning and using all the useful "lost" skills of which most kids today have absolutely no knowledge. How sad. And although it makes their lives somewhat less "easy" ... it certainly appears that it brings them much satisfaction, joy, self-confidence, flexibility, ... I could go on and on. Just love this family.

As a mom to several adult children.......we believed in raising our kids the way my mom and dad did.....tons of care love patience compassion understanding......manner and respect....and our now adult children are blessings from God....they are so well grounded....and loving.....most important is we always tell them how much we love them over and over and over and we built a million memories.....we were never a fan of home schooling again a personal choice....growing up going to public school a million memories and friendships I just think we need children to enjoy growing up and having friendships mine are now more then 50 years plus......social skills are so important but again our beliefs.....and yes agreed there are plenty of entitled kids and that's a shame......if you invest the time and effort and realize your a mommy and daddy forever perhaps our world would be a better loving place peace

@@ozarkfamilyhomestead She's a little protective of her Mama as well she should be. Some people are so stupid and think that a child is abused if they're not sitting in their bedroom watching the screen on their phone. I had a lady tell me one time that she felt sorry for me, all the work I had to do at home and in the garden. Funny thing was I CHOSE to do the weeding I was doing in the garden! Lol Nobody asked me to. I simply told her I enjoyed doing the work I did, while my parents were at work themselves, and I planned to raise my kids exactly the same way! That pretty much shut her down.

I came back to add that if anyone is commenting negatively on Sarah helping around the house, perhaps they've forgotten that without those valuable life skills they will grow up to eat poorly and order out and not know how to run a household. I wish more families taught their children these valuable skills instead of just letting them play on computers all day... keep your head up! Sarah-you'll be a fabulous grown up!! oxo

I started cooking at 12, my parents both worked and that was my job! I never felt it was a punishment, infact the more I learned the more I loved it . Today I am 68 and still love baking and cooking, feeding other's is one of life's greatest pleasures. It is quite evident Sarah enjoys her cooking skills and looks like she too loves what she is doing! People need to realize this is how families work.....we Work together! 😊❤

It so reminds me of the way my Grandma cooked, not wasting anything, and involving everyone in the household. In today's world we need to get back to basics and stop waste. You all do such a beautiful job with meals. Our son & daughter in-law have 7 children as well. They all have chores & help with meal prep & clean up. They’ve learned so much. They are 5yrs. to 12. God bless you & your lovely family!

Janice, you are doing such a wonder job with the children they are just precious Sarah is a lovely young lady learning how to run a household and cook. She did a beautiful job on her part of the video and you can just hear the joy in her voice talking about “our vegetables” and mama the love just oozes from her when she talks about you.

Glad that I missed negative comments here. Mean spirited people are desperately unhappy people. Never allow them into your head. Sarah, you are a joy to watch as are all of your family. As for the nasty folks, get some kind of life that teaches you to love yourselves and others. You live by your choices.

Hello. My name is Sheri. This is my work computer. I had to tell you, it warms my heart every time I see your dining room table. Those chairs with the flowers on the back are almost identical with my parents dining room set. Many wonderful memories around that table. I love your videos. We need more pure videos on KZbin. Thanks for sharing with us.

I was thinking about Sarah the other day and this is a great way for her to find what she likes to do. Her passion. I got a thought that one day she is going to have her own restaurant and she could name it "Momma's Joy." And the kids could work there if they want and run the place.

💜I feel like my comments are redundant but I don’t know enough words to express how much peace and serenity I find from watching your family’s videos. First of all, I pray your back is doing better! I have suffered from spinal injuries since the early 90’s & I have Rheumatoid Arthritis so I’m well acquainted with back pain. I’m not familiar with your reference to your adrenal glands. I’ve been in steroids for my aRA sincev’97 so my adrenal glands are non functional. I’m curious about the strictness of your diabetic diet. When I was diagnosed with Type 2 s round 2013, I kept a notebook with the number of carbs I ate per meal per day. I needed to lose weight anyway so I took the amount of carbs I was allowed per meal and aimed for 40 carbs each meal. If I needed a snack it was a 20 carb something. The weight began to fall off me and I ended up losing 50 lbs in a couple of months. My A1C stayed in the 5.7 ish range. I was just wondering if you were told by your dr to eat only the smallest amt of carbs. Please know I am not questioning you or being judgmental, just truly curious. Diabetes is such a serious disease. I must confess I don’t take as good a care of myself now. Have so many health issues going on….low salt/salt free diet, low fat diet, I have to work at keeping my potassium up to normal. It is a real challenge. One more question, I’d like to hear about the probiotic water you and Sarah drink. How is it made and do you both have digestive problems? Since I’ve talked so long again, I will wait til next time to tell you how wonderful all of you are and how special your children are. I can’t tell Anna and Abagail apart. Help??? Take care of that back!! Love to you all, Vikki from Tennessee. 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️🥰🥰

Crazy that anyone would have an issue with Sarah cooking, That's what families do, when one person is down the others step up, Besides I was cooking and doing ALL the dishes by age 11.

Way to go Sarah and also Andrew for helping! My kids (7 all adults now) all would help with chores and dinner. My youngest daughter (now 24) was canning on her own at 16 and laying flooring by 17. Kids with skills turn into adults with skills! Feel better mama!!!

JANICE, What type of things does baby girl like? Toy wise? Dolls? Activity (drawing etc)? Mini farm animals? A pretend baby? Asking because I’d like to send something. I’m a mom of 5 with a 6th on the way, we only have one income, so I can’t buy all of the kiddos gifts all at once, BUT over time I’d like to send you something for ea. I already know what to send the two second youngests. But I wanna start in order. Thank you 🙏

My mom was the queen of throwing frozen food in the microwave. Prior to a microwave it was very limited bland food from the oven and cans. I WISH she could have taught me all the cooking and baking lessons your children have learned. It will be much easier for them as adults already knowing how to cook, can, clean, budget, garden, etc. Good job mom and dad!

Do like me, I taught myself everything I know. Making homemade biscuits, canning anything, all kinds of jams, jellies, syrups, BBQ sauce, pickles, pickled garlic, etc. My son is a chef. I'm so glad to see you parents teaching your kids all you do. Sarah, I agree, people need to hush.

@@jeannedennis5863 I'm old now. I taught myself to cook, bake, cake decorating...and taught my children to cook as well. My daughter also bakes but my sons have no interest in that. I always had a black thumb when it came to gardening and didn't bother with canning because of it. I'm glad to hear you're so versed. That's an accomplishment.
