Janice, I’ve never tasted a Turkey or duck egg. Is the taste similar to a chicken egg? Really enjoy the weekly menu. God bless!
@ozarkfamilyhomestead8 ай бұрын
@@Susanjoc Susan, a duck egg has a texture that's a bit "thicker" than a chicken egg. I think the taste is very similar though. Personally, I cannot tell a difference between chicken eggs and turkey eggs except that turkey eggs are larger. Other than that, they look and taste the same to me! :)

@@ozarkfamilyhomestead thanks so much for answering my question. I have to tell you Janice a deal I received online from Instacart for Aldi. If you purchase $50 of groceries, you receive $30 off! I’m thinking the boys do more outside and we don’t see as much of their work as we do the girls, but I’m sure they put in as much time as the girls. Sarah you are an incredible help in the kitchen! Your mother is lucky to have you!! Those biscuits looked AWESOME!! I bet they were delicious! I sometimes add some shredded cheddar and finely shredded parmesan cheese to my dry flour ingredients and mix it in and the add my lumpy milk(I add 2 tsps of lemon juice or vinegar to it to turn it into buttermilk but I imagine you have a lot leftover after making your butter)and butter it turns them into delicious cheddar Parmesan biscuits! Also a trick I used after rolling out my dough is to fold it by a third and then fold the other side in and then just roll it this helps make flaky layers and I use a glass jar or glass to cut out the biscuits and I dredge the edge of the jar in flour first and then when pressing into the biscuits I turn it back and forth that ensures a beautiful edge on all your biscuits and makes a natural separation between the top and bottom layers to be able to pull them apart once completely cooled.) that was a tip I learned from my mother. She has passed on now but I always remember her when I’m baking in the kitchen she was an incredible baker and put a lot of love into her food just like you do!🥰❤️🍁🙏🏻🇨🇦

I've been using garlic oil for years, but I haven't actually filmed a video on it. I'm sure you could search for "medicinal uses of garlic oil" or "how to make garlic oil" and you'll get a lot of results. I just hate to give out any information that might be misconstrued as medical advice! :) I will say that our family uses it whenever we're experiencing fevers. I like to rub it on the soles of feet and then put socks on to keep the oil from rubbing off on bedding. It's a main ingredient in my "Momma Medicine Cabinet" when we're sick!

Please explain how you get your brussel sprouts cooked like that? Mine never turn out.
@ozarkfamilyhomestead8 ай бұрын
I just set the oven to 425 degrees. I place frozen brussel sprouts on a cookie sheet and then drizzle olive oil on them. I also sprinkle salt, pepper, and minced garlic on top. I place that in the oven and set the timer for 20 minutes. When the timer goes off, I remove the cookie sheet and stir the brussel sprouts around a bit so everything is thoroughly coated in the seasonings and the oil. Then I place it back in the oven for at least another 20 minutes. After that point, keep checking on it. You want to see some blackened spots on the sprouts because that's when they're good and sweet. Of course, you don't want to actually BURN them, so don't let them get too black either!!! :)

Do the kids have snacks before bedtime
@leannekenyoung8 ай бұрын
Or at any time during the day? I don’t believe children need snacks unless they are going to be a longer than normal time between meals. I don’t know why some people think children need to be constantly fed, our digestive systems weren’t designed to handle all that food and when too many snacks are given then the children aren’t hungry for their evening meals. I know it doesn’t matter so much if they are healthy and homemade snacks but still just something I don’t think is necessary wondering what your thoughts are around this Janice?
