I don't know if you even see/check comments on these really old videos but I sure do love to come back to them. It's such an inspiration to see where the Lord has lead and how He has blessed you thru your following of Him these last many years. Look at the kitchen in this video-and look at your kitchen now! Yet you used both with equal joy and creativity. You are amazing-keep being you, momma!!

I have been obsessed watching all your haul videos. way to go, mama! I often get so discouraged shopping for my family (of only 4 total ;) ) but you give me the courage to forge on. I agree, our country is so blessed to have food and water so readily available. I am a full-time working out of the home mom with two boys [4 yo and 1 yo] and find it hard to juggle everyday life and schedules. I am putting a few of your recipies on my meal plan for the future. thank you for putting your life out there to encourage the other mamas of the world!

I love to grocery shop. It's my favorite kind of grocery shopping. We shop at Costco, Aldi's, Price Rite and sometimes Wegman's. But I am know to shop anywhere we are close to a store because I know is the best the have to offer in a particular grocery store. I eat sweet potatoes at least 3-4 times a week for my lunch. My favorite way to have them is peeled and diced along with a granny smith apple and I toss them in melted coconut oil (from COSTCO) and sprinkle with spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, allspice and sometimes I'll add coconut sugar or maple syrup to them (about 1-2 tbsp.) and roast them at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes. OMG so delish.

Recipes for sweet potatoes @ 2.50. Peel them, dice them into chunks and steam or boil them until tender (doesn't take long!) Meanwhile heat your oven to about 392 and line a baking tray with baking paper. When sweet potato is so a fork will go through it, tip chunks onto tray and then dot chunks with orange juice, the grated rind of an orange and onion. Sprinkle with salt, cardamom, and bake! You can also use other spices by themselves such as fennel, or cloves is really tasty or sumac , just experiment :) and see how you go.

I commented before the video was done! Our grocery budget monthly is $400 for a family of 5. I'm running a grocery budget challenge over on my channel where I will be filming what I purchase and how much I've spent with a running total for the month. We also own chickens for eggs, and have a 50x50'garden that we just started planting!

America is blessed with plenty of food but there are a lot of families that can't even afford a loaf of bread. I enjoy seeing your videos and wonder how or why can't I have what you have for my family ? I'm disabled and it doesn't leave hardly anything for the month. depending on the food banks is just ridiculous 90% of the food is rotten and they won't help you and the a certain food bank you go to won't help because you have to live in the area code.

I usually go out every other day looking for super sales, BUT I just started a new job, 40 hours a week and two days off, which means whatever time I have home I want to spend with my child and BF, not shopping. So I did a BIG haul on Sunday, came home with with everything we need except what we'd get from our weekly veggie bag (think CSA). BF hated it but I loved it!! I know whats available, I can do more plan ahead with meals... We'll see if it lasts the whole month.

We are lucky too, here in UK. We have a good selection of produce available. I live in the suburbs of Glasgow, large city in Scotland. Our trash is picked up on a cycle basis. We recycle everything. One week its the green bin which is cans/bottles and plastics. Next its general trash, grey bin. following week its blue bin which is paper/cardboard and every week brown bin, which recycles garden and food waste. I also compost and make my own fertilizer and being in the suburbs, we feed our local foxes/badgers which live in our local park and on the railway embankments. Nothing goes to waste in my house. Once you get your produce garden going, blend up those banana skins, eggshells and coffee grounds and it makes a brilliant fertilizer for household and outdoor plants.

I make chilli too though perhaps not in the quantities that you do as it's just my husband and I at home now. I always serve mine over corn chips and also add a bag of kale slaw to the meat and beans etc to bulk it up. Any leftover meat mix I will spoon into a baking dish and top with mashed sweet potato or mashed pumpkin and reheat as a shepherds pie :)

I just love you'r videos, I am learning to put meal plans into our regular routine. I also am trying to figure out how much a months worth of groceries for us would be? I try really hard to keep at 500 a month since there are 5 of us. I figure 100 dollars a month per person is good. Less if I can do it. It has become a game for me. I'd love to hear your meal plans since I have such picky eaters we tend to eat the same things over and over. Looking forward to seeing more from you in the future :-)

I absolutely love your channel! And I love every topic that you talk about! 😊 I just wanted to share that I love sweet potatoes, but I don't eat them a healthy way. One of my favorite ways is to wash and bake it just like you would bake an Idaho potato. But I put brown sugar on mine & that's where it gets all unhealthy. I also love to fix sweet potato fries we love them. Also, one last way is I have a very good recipe for a sweet potato casserole. I usually only fix it twice a year at Thanksgiving & Christmas because it's so "rich" . If I eat it then I'll eat it as my dessert. If anyone would like the recipe I would be happy to share it. Thanks for sharing your grocery haul! Have a wonderful & blessed day!!! 😊

I have what may be an odd question.. when your kids are older and some or all of them have moved out, do you think it'll be easy for you to adjust how you buy things? Cause you'll have been buying things in bulk for so long, when the time comes that you don't have to anymore do you think it'll be hard for you to get used to? I love your videos btw. i only cook for me and my husband and I don't want any kids, but I really enjoy watching you take care of your family so well :)

Have you ever frozen your eggs? I read about this. You need a bunch of ice trays and a small ladle preferably with a spout. Crack a bunch of eggs; enough to fill the ice trays you have. Scramble the eggs and fill your ice trays. Carefully load into the freezer. Freeze overnight. Pop out and store in plastic bags until ready for use. If you still have eggs to freeze, repeat the process. Your ice trays won't be held hostage by the eggs. As soon as they're frozen, they can be popped out of the ice trays then transferred to freezer bags and stored in any order as your freezer will allow.

We go through about 2-3 a week, so 10-15 a week. I have now realized that a local dairy doesn't high heat pasteurize, so we are going to try making yogurt and eventually cheese. I have one of mine that is lactose intolerant but can handle the dairy milk. So we have been making pudding. I figured we would experiment to find our right fit. I am buying about 2-3 a week and stopping by a produce store that carries it. I have not freezes any milk yet, because we are in the same boat no room. Even with 2 fridges, an upright freezer and a chest freezer. Btw, we have been filling our freezer up since watching you all bulk prep lunches. We are doing the muffins, burritos, cheeseburgers, and english muffin sandwiches.
