large format gel printing using acetate stencils

Switching from copy paper stencils to acetate, which is stronger, water resistant and washable. I repurposed the protective sheet that came with the gel plate package.

Yes! In the old days of monoprinting you would use a sheet of glass or plexiglass. The effect is a bit different, but always interesting!

Lots to think about here. At first, I didn’t want the added stencils at the end. Now, I can’t imagine the print without them.

Acetate is probably the best choice for your stencils, but yupo paper also stands up to wet media.

Yupo is godawful expensive! Tyvek envelopes from the post office is free and will do the job.

Nice spatial balance. The white scribbles do something special. It looks like the acetate gives as sharp a result as the paper.

yes, the acetate gives a very crisp line! The down side is having to scrub each one after the filming is over 😒

Do you protect your pulls with some product like mod podge or varnish?

Days on You Tube: 767 and counting, days I nicked the plate: 0. KateWord Art will back me up, she uses a razor blade to pick up stencils too! But thanks for your concerns.
