@rubencampos6040 the reyes one i agree if we go by points altough jones won the championship rounds, i don't think Gus did enough, especially in the 4 round when he almost got finished, santos was barely hanging on with the knee popping off, jones won clearly in the santos fight, the other two fights have more arguments, especially the reyes one
@doyouunderstandthis Жыл бұрын
@@SinNumero_no41exactly. Someone will give Jones a good fight and they immediately scream robbery. Jones out struck Gus in every round in there first fight if you look at the stats, he also almost finished Gus a couple times. It was a good fight but Jones won that, he clearly beat Santos too. The only fight in Jones career you can argue was a robbery was Reyes.

@rubencampos6040he’s undefeated champion he’s the greatest fighter ever literally 🤷
@numa58107 ай бұрын
@@Judystrawyer. He lost to Matt Hamill due to illegal elbow and should have lost the two Gustafsson's fight : the firts for poke in the eyes and the second for poke in the eyes and for repeated blows to the back of the head. Instead of that the ref stopped the fight and gave the win to Jones like wtf x) You can add the two doping suspensions and you have one of the worst cheater of the sport. A natty emilianenko would beat him and without using illegal blows. Very good fighter though its just a shame he behave like that.

@abbeykroeter23522 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. I didn't know why some were sort of looking over him with Jones-- I felt alone when saying "this guy has a different build and style than any of them, and Jones may find it awkward. I knew if it went extreme grappling Gus would have a problem with Jones, but starting out... basically it's one of the fights I called well. Never an expert, but since around 1997 or so, my friends and other bar stool experts (Actually I wrestled since 6 years old in the 1970's so I wasn't exactly green about fighting) noticed I was saying some of the things the fighters should do BEFORE Rogan or others were saying it, and sometimes when they didn't say it at all and missed the details. I'd like to see him back. It would be epic if Jones could win one more at heavyweight or maybe a couple fights- but I think he might be taking the weight gain a little too far though, and should let himself work at speed and strategy from here to the next fight. To beat a prepared Francis, and even Stipe and Cyril, Jon might be better off NOT being too heavy, and work his old tried and true recipe of being unpredictable. His base (mostly folk style) and early work kept him out of trouble most of the time, and I think the general pubic overlooks how safe he could keep himself when he really wanted to. With the big boys- yes the hits will be worse, but they can't move like he does around 220. At 230 0r 240, that might be nonsense for his frame. Yes it's nice to have power to match those true heavyweights, and Jon looks huge, but honestly many light-heavyweights would school many heavyweights if they simply didn't cut weight and went in natural around 215 to 225. It happens in other competition all the time. That size human can often be the most dangerous of all.

Look at how almost every fighter he's fought had shit to say to him (dc, gustafsson, evans, sonnen, reyes) but couldn't even hit jones properly in their fights. His defense is so good and the way he picks his shots and plays with his opponents is absolutely beautiful. His tricky combinations combined with his power wrestling was the key for every fight - look at how everybody can cheer people talking shit to him but at the end of the day they're disappointed bc he just refuses to lose For me, he's the absolute GOAT of this sport

@@patriciadavis1393 True, but this In and of Itself Isn't rare to find since It's been proven multiple times through greats like Mike Tyson and Michael Jordan that goodness and greatness can't always exist. Those type of athletes have had their fair share of fuck ups In life, Michael Jordan would always physically abuse and resort to violence when his teammates disobeyed or tried to talk back to him (Will Perdue and Steve Kerr were two of them who've admitted this), and would actively gamble outside of the court. And the same with Tyson, who's had multiple DUI Incidents himself where he was pulled over the cops and busted for doing coke In his 20s (that of which he plead guilty to cocaine possession and misdemeanor). same with Jon and It doesn't "derail" or "tarnish" there legacies the way most people think It does, as fighters like Justin Gaethje have even said In the past regarding steroid use for Jon In this case. I'm not saying Jon Is a saint and like you said the criminal and wreckless behavior he's gotten himself Into In the past has setback his career, but there's no denying when that man steps Into the octagon he's always been the ultimate winner and the greatest to ever do It. There's a reason challengers like Gus held him to a higher standard than the championship Itself, winning against Jon meant more to Gus than winning the title and that says alot about how his greatness will forever remain untouched. "Jon Jones has a gift from god, Jon Jones Is #1 of all skilled fighters, maybe not In terms of behavior, or the law, but In my personal opinion he Is." - Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov In 2016. 👼🐐

I like Jones, but he got his clock cleaned good in the first fight.

Yeah that's what happens when you don't train properly, as opposed to In the 2nd fight Gus got HIS clock cleaned good. When prepared, Jon would've destroyed him likely.

@@darkclaw1462 I couldn't figure that out. I didn't know he slept on training. He's my boy, but I thought he just lost.
@darkclaw1462 Жыл бұрын
@@RobertWilliams-mk8pl I mean It's a close call either way, It was a split decision, and not every split decision win Is a "controversial win" my guy. Jon beat Alex convincingly during the later half of the entire fight, and Alex gassed and didn't land much of anything significant In rounds 3-5, especially In the 5th RD Gus just took repeated leg kicks and elbows and offer no bit of any offensive counter attacks, and In the rematch Jon made even quicker work of him when trained properly. DC Cormier said It best, "None of us ever beat Jon enough to make him look In the mirror" they've admitted their losses to him. Jon Jones greatest opposition Is ultimately himself. It's hard to admit I know (Gus Is a legend), but It's the truth. Jon beat Gus twice.

He uploads on the anniversary of the fights. If you look, most uploads on the same day are on the same fight card. Recent example- Diaz vs Cerrone and Lesnar vs Overeem. Same fight card and Larone posted them on the same day.
