Hahha Super Dave was reusing material! The "screaming out the window of the car" he did on Norm's show, too. That's the sign of a real funnyman....know what works...
@jamesfeldman42349 ай бұрын
I've never had a problem with a comedian doing material I've heard the comedian do before. If a comic's got something down to perfection in delivery and timing, like Bob Einstein does (and did) I will find it hilarious no matter how many times I've heard it. Like when Don Rickles tells you, "I've never liked you." Don had used that line his entire career. Those old Dean Martin Roasts are still funny scores and scores of years later.

My favorite Bob Einstein line from Curb. Quick setup: Larry, Jeff and Marty are at lunch talking about Richards new burlesque girlfriend and theorize the only reason he's dating her is her large boobs. Richard comes in and the guys give him a hard time about it, but Richard is adamant that he's dating her for more than her body. Bob interrupts Richard with "Have you set a day aside when you are finally going to look at her face?" both Jeff and Larry burst out laughing, which likely indicates this was heard for the first time in that moment. YT search: Curb Your Enthusiasm - "Are you dating a Burlesque Dancer" - Season 8 Ep. 2

Jeff's uncontrollable giggle gave it away, for me, that Bob threw that in unexpectedly 😂 I saw him say in an interview that Bob was the #1 culprit to cause him to break character

I had the same reaction to Super Dave at first. Would see him on Letterman or some other shows, and ask myself: " What the hell is this guy doing? That's not funny." But as time went by suddenly it clicked! Maybe it has something with getting older and jaded. Who knows? But the last decade or so, when I see him, he's just brilliant. Same with Norm, though I always knew he was an instigator. Sneaky funny. Wish that Albert Brooks was still doing stand-up, since I loved him way back when. Even before he started doing movies like Lost in America, etc. Oh well, now I reminded myself that I'm old. So it goes...
