THANKS FOR THE GREAT LESSONS. Worked on my fundamentals at home & once at range this week with focus on new grip, setup & connection. Played for 1st time today after implementation of lessons & shot +10 with 39 points on very slopy, fast greens at course with 141 slope. I usually shoot >90's & visit 80's. Will be breaking 80 soon on easier courses I normally play. Driver slice & fade gone, irons high flight & pin high. Super happy golfer.

Larry know what to do. Watched his video and hitting straight bombs now. 7 iron carries 170 yards. Larry is the man.

Your explanation and demonstration of the straight arm line going back vs. consciously trying to hinge the wrists is incredibly helpful. I played a round of golf yesterday with that as my swing thought and I saw improvement in accuracy and distance. Thanks, and keep up the good work! Dave.

Nice video. I have gone away from doing a deliberate hinge and I flush the ball now.

Larry, Thank you. I was struggling with the shanks. Found your channel after watching the TXG boys. Turned my swing around in 1 day. Can't wait to continue to practice and perfect this. Maybe someday I'll hit it as far as Matt.

Many thks! You make it look easy! I have a Jim Furyk swing that works(3 handicap) but can’t add speed on it( 102 ss) . Starting your protocol this week. Tkhs

From the many videos I have watched it appears that if, at the top of the backswing, I drew a line along the club shaft through the your shoulder, it would intersect the ground outside the ball about the same distance that you stand from the ball. How much variance is tolerable and what are the benefits or consequences of a steeper or shallower angle?

I'm enjoying this series and trying to rebuild my swing. At the top of the backswing you advocate covering the right shoulder with the left arm. Before starting this series, I had been trying to steepen my plane in the backswing to where my hands are between my neck and right shoulder. Is there a distinct advantage to the flatter vs a steeper position? My initial thought is this is to make it easier to shallow the club on the downswing.

I don't like getting the the hands that high where your arm is higher than shoulders as there is too much arm lift, if you lift too much, it will promote more pulldown of your hands and could reduce the rotation in the downswing =)

Larry, In trying to get better I note all the differing approaches. You mention no side bend in one of the earlier videos on the backswing. Does side bend as advocated by so many others like Gankas create plane or contact issues with your teaching ideas?

jack which Video are you referring to ??

Movement Drill Aug 23 Turn level to match tilt... dont add side bend" Maybe that is a misunderstanding - if you stand up straight and turn thats level... Gankas says do that( stand straight turn) and add side bend ,,, gets you into good top positon( and feel difference). I'm guessing if you have proper tilt at hips you can make the proper turn which includes tilt. More reason to watch a video multiple times... my error.

@@jack-hq7gr Correct, i'm not saying to turn level to the ground, your shoulders would be parallel to the ground if that was the case =P

Larry, very informative. When working with Matt of TXG most notably his backswing has less hinge, a distinctive new look at top of swing..... What is the benefit of that in terms of others trying to copy your suggestions. More control in downswing feel or consistency of motion?
@LarryCheungGolf6 жыл бұрын
Less hinge, the wider the backswing can be, and more stable the face can be =)

Very interesting video. Very curious about the feeling of leaving the club in line with the left arm. Do you not have to worry about wrist conditions at the top of the swing? I tend to get very little bend in my right wrist. I think it may be due to not getting the swing 'deep' enough based on some experimenting with the top of the backswing position recommended in this video. I would be interested to hear more about why you recommend the thought of no purposeful wrist bend.

Feeling no vertical hinging or cocking of the wrist for a lot of people actually help them attain favourable wrist conditions at the top of the backswing, which I prefer to be flat left wrist, bent right wrist. If you have too much vertical hinge/cock, your left wrist will be cupped and right wrist won’t be too bent. Know what I mean?

After hearing the txg plug for your channel, I watched all your videos. Enjoyed all the content, especially the chipping and pitching. From this video it looks like the club goes inside the target line at waist high, are you lifting the club to put it in the correct position at the top?
@LarryCheungGolf6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for coming over and checking things out!!! For beginners (or for someone who is trying to build a swing on their own) I am not too picky on the club going inside the target line at waist high as there are bigger things to focus on! From there, it's a combination of turning and allowing your hands to go up and behind you to the top, this may be a lift, others may see this as just raising their hands there, or getting their hands up by folding their right arm up a bit. Different feels or ways to describe it =) Hope that helps!!!

too inside and flat, compare to any PGA swing, their hands are never outside their back shoulder
