Craig is strait laced Scott upbringing. I think Craig is trying to tell us what went on behind the scenes. It confirms all the crap that people have heard whispered over the years. Larry was definitely qualified to be in that clique.

hmmmmm ....... "Letterman" , in terms of start of the show into ...... maybe 2000 .... after that , Letterman got too political for my tastes ...... and Conan the same way .... only more recent has he become too political ...... Ferguson would maybe quote a headline & frame it where it wasn't too one sided , when he gave the punchline - if I remember correckedly ....... ???

Of all the late night hosts, Craig is the only one (IMO) that doesn't need a huge production (like fallon) around him to make the show good. All you needed was him. There's a reason why his monologue was the best out of any of them.
@raveoreynolds6049
@raveoreynolds6049 3 жыл бұрын
To be fair, the demographics of 'The Tonight Show" and Late (Late) night TV are pretty different. It's a lot different making a show that's designed to be the centerpiece of pop culture, and a show that people want to watch half falling asleep. Fallon himself is proof of this, as he did a lot more memorable and risky sketch work while doing late night.

@StreetTruckinTitan - that wouldn't go how you're imagining. Craig is a fairly conservative guy on most things, and he made it a point on the show to be fair to both sides of the political aisle. If anything I think Craig would be critical of the media for not being more balanced in their coverage. IF you saw the last stand up special he did for Netflix, he mentions that the media in general is so staunchly against Trump that you really can't trust anything they say anymore.

Now, that is what I called a fun, informative and thought-provoking interview. It also helps that I find Ferguson quite sexy. BTW, he got lucky when he left his chat show when he did, it saved his sanity and health. I see Colbert, whom I love, having to do five monologues per week about Trump. Bashing Trump has become a straightjacket and a duty, you can tell he's not having fun. Craig, on the other hand, is enjoying his freedom. Good on ya, mate!

I love his caginess about voting and Trump. Maybe he just doesn't want to take sides, but I have always sensed that Craig is a centrist or independent-minded voter, not a partisan type. And he very clearly did not want to speak for or against Trump here--keeping his career in mind but also not wanting to outright bash Trump or conservative politics. Very interesting and pretty much what I always figured about Ferguson.
