HF posted this in April 2020, with the comment, "In this uncertain time, there are so many brave people teaching us each day about real sacrifice. Thank you to those who are sacrificing their strength for others because they don't have enough of their own. This song is for you." It's such a beautiful song, thank you for reacting to it.

Yes! That video by Austin & Rob is SUPERB!!! I’m not crazy about opera, but it was crazy good! Blew me away! This song was beautiful when Vince Gill put it out, & HF definitely did it justice. I played it at my Dad’s funeral, & it was played at a few of my uncles’ funerals, too. All were either retired military or war veterans. Dad served 23 years. What I would do to have him here with me today, but I know he’s in a better place & no longer hurting or struggling to breathe. ❤😢

Vince Gill wrote such a beautiful song and Home Free more than did it justice! I hope that you will react to Home Free's version of "Take Me Home Country Roads". It's nothing like the one you already reacted to. It's a perfect blend of country/gospel/r&b. Home Free waited for about 5 yrs. before they recorded it - they wanted to make sure the arrangement was perfect. It was/is. Thanks Chris! 🖤🍟

It's a misnomer to call Home Free a country band. HF auditioned for the show 'The Sing Off' a few times and did not make the cut. They performed pop at the time. The shows producers stated they needed a different 'hook' for the show. They offered HF the chance to perform as a unique country acapella group. They performed...they won. Subsequently they stayed with the country edge to get known to the public. Their many collaborations were with country acts. Tim has stated many times he did not want to perform country. But you go what pays the bills. In the ensuing years HF, as their fame/ talent has gotten a following, they broke away from being 'country' and set forth their talent in numerous genres. So let's recall the collective abilities of Home Free. -- 5 lead singers -- 5 tenors -- 3 baritones -- 2 bass -- 1 basso profundo -- 5 beat boxers/vocal percussionists -- 1 EXCEPTIONAL beatboxer/drum kit/ vocal percussionist -- 5 guys proficient in various genres: (Pop/Country/R&B/Rock/Gospel/Rap/Blues/Musical theater/Comedy/Holiday/Doo Wop/AND NOW Opera..Opera!!/dancers-in- training 😉 ) Oh, and I would venture to say they present upgrades 'not' covers. Look for Austin's channel. This last week the song reactor channels are innudated with the "Country Boys sing opera" Sample this offering...no other group is as versatile.

So beautifully sung by Rob with so much emotion that it touches your heart and soul. Because if you can sing as well, as it reaches only to my ears it's not good enough for me. But this is so perfect. Beautiful cover with respect for the original. They just give it a Home Free twist like Tim's piece with Amazing Grace. So good harmonies and great bass in the background .. And then that video, so emotional!! My father came out of the war alive after 4 years in a Japanese camp. Often in isolation. With the help of a fellow inmate, he survived. But it still bothered him physically and mentally. He was hard on us. We were not allowed to show our emotions and weakness, otherwise they would get us. After all, he himself had survived the war that way. In 1969, 3 days before my 6th birthday, he died from the physical effects of the war. He was only allowed to live to be 50 years old. Amazing Grace was sung at his funeral. One of his favorite songs that he often sang as a pastor. By the way, though you may not like opera try Austin Brown and Rob Lundquist on Austins channel: Two country singers try singing opera "Nessun Dorma ".. You"ll be shocked

Thoughtful reaction, Chris. This is a really tough one. Have learned to expect it'll be a heart breaker with each listen. Home Free is amazing with this song but find, when coupled with the video, to be just too overwhelming. Still very emotional, but I prefer their 'Church Sessions' version which is just the guys, their beautiful voices, sitting in a church. The 'church organ' effect of Home Free's five-part harmonies is stunningly soul-stirring.

Unfortunately some people can't differentiate their hatred for war from their hatred of the men and women that fought them. They need to realize, that no one like wars, but they happen, sometimes fought for a very good cause. And for that cause, the men and women that served, sometimes came home damaged mentally, physically, or not at all. Giving their lives for the betterment of others. There is no greater sacrifice that to give your life so others can live.

Years ago in the late 1960's, my father who was career military and had just retired, was at the local VFW on 4th of July. He was cornered by a reporter, and was asked, how could you go and fight wars. Why would you do this?. He stood up and in his Sargent's voice, said - " I did it so idiots like you can ask stupid questions like that" she had no further comments. It made it to TV that evening, one of my favorite memories of my father. Your comments about veterans at the end, reminded me of that day.

But please give it a try, I feel like you'd get a kick out something like Gothic Country, Country Folk, Country Rock, or good Classic Country. I'd recommend Zach Bryan or Tyler Childers as a starting point for Gothic❤️ And Johnny Cash or Willie Nelson for Classic Tyler Childers, Amigo The Devil, Poor Man's Poison, Zach Bryan are some amazing artists out of the few I know...

A lot of people claim to not like “Country Music”, and perhaps think it unsophisticated and “hokey”. Some of it may be, yet what other genre can reach the inner, true, emotions of your soul? Some may focus on “the beat”, the rime, how much vulgarity can be used, but nothing can get to you like a song that goes straight to the heart. That is funny, reflective, or heart wrenching Country.

A really great song/video that you can't help but feel such a sense of pride is Toby Keith's An Angry American. What a wonderfully patriotic look at our men and women in the military.

Some people not only take our freedoms for granted, but are actively trying to remove those freedoms from our society. If you ask them "why", they will point out small imperfections that don't adequately compare to balance what they want to gain, with what would be lost.

Thank you for reacting to this beautiful song by the guys. It is a tough one for sure. I was lucky when my husband made it home. Sometimes beautiful music brings you to your knees. As you wrote...A life celebrated. Thank you.

Angelic Rob is perfect lead for this song. Appreciate your reaction. Now I must highly recommend that you watch the video from Austin Brown’s channel of him and Rob Lundquist performing “Nessum Dorma “. Rob will blow your mind. His voice and delivery are delicious.

I don’t know how the group could sing this without crying; I wonder how many “takes” they had to do to finish this video.

This song was written by Vince Gill for his brother who took his own life because of the demonstrate he faced. I don't know if his brother was vet but sadly over 25 vets a day commit suicide
