I used to work for a laser cutting/welding company. PLEASE NEVER use the safety goggles supplied (at least with chinese made lasers)! You do not know which supplier they use and if they work properly. Buy a proper pair of glasses if you want to watch the laser do its job! They are expensive of course, but you know for sure that you will not be blind at the end of the day! Another option is to leave the room while the laser is working.

Spread the word! Please guys and gals you only have one pair of eyes! A laser this size is pretty easy to put into a enclosure. You won't be able to see what is happening (could put a webcam in there) but your eyes will be safer.

That’s so neat, thanks for the idea! You could 3D print a positioning jig with fake ports (USB, HDMI, XLR) and set it so that it slots into the feet of the laser frame. That ways you'd have a repeatable, indicated position in your software, regardless of the shape of overmolded part.

What kind of plastic are those cable ends made out of? I would worry about burning unknown patios. Some release toxic gasses when burned.

*Laserin the banana was awesome!* 😂 🤙🏽⚡️🤟🏽⚡️👌🏽 Bein able to engrave cables is amazin, a lotta times sticky labels come off. Love the stories that come along with the builds, gives it more life.

Hey @tryboxx9896 Currently I don't yet as I don't have all the panels designed yet, but as soon as I've finished every panel id love to provide the Cad, Id like to ask, what would you require in terms of the Cad model of the desk? are you thinking of building something similar and need exact measurements or is it for something different ?

Another vid, another cup of coffee another comment from 4tra haha appreciate you :) I tried to engrave a piece of steel but it didn't leave much of a mark I'm not sure if its able to do that, definitely using the engraver for more projects as soon as I have a little more time :)

My brain is the same way with images and text. I'm a big fan of using iconography for labelling

Buy proper safety glasses when using a laser that's not fully enclosed (the included ones are generally not adequate) Also make sure you have proper ventilation (or ideally have a fume extractor)
