Lovely that you got the new arm! I have the old one and it has some sag issues which get so much worse from the vibrations of rolling the desk around. Apparently I just rolled a nat 1 on tolerances since most people don't struggle with it, and most that do, can do a simple mod that didn't work for me.

Id say you can put the Flow 8 down into the desk. With balanced Audio cables (XLR) interference is cancelled out
@FlatLanderTech2 ай бұрын
Thank you for the suggestion! :) , ill look into getting some balanced cables and test out some scenarios, this time I had audio trouble when I plugged a HDMI cable into my camera which was somewhat frustrating, when I removed the HDMI the hiss was gone, I still find audio quite complex at times.

I've been playing around with how to mount my speakers in some fashion to get them off of my desk and in the air to be flexible if I ever mess with my monitor setup. Is there a place where you might share CAD files or something like that? Asking since I'm new to following your channel and may have missed something like that along the way. Amazing work!

@@FlatLanderTech Looking forward to it man! Also - I was curious how even with a smaller following you were getting sponsorships and deals? I was just curious because my goal once our studio is done painting and setup, I want to start my own channel. TY For all that you do man, really appreciate your videos, like, so freaking much!
@FlatLanderTechАй бұрын
Sorry for the late reply-I don’t get notified of responses for some reason. That’s awesome to hear! Starting a KZbin channel is really fun, and I’m glad you’re taking the leap! About your question on sponsorships, I'll first explain how it went over the last few weeks, and then go back to when I had around 1,000 subscribers. The Elgato, Toprig, and Keychron sponsorships were ones I initiated. I just sent a friendly email explaining my idea, the concept behind it, sometimes even including 3D models of what I wanted to build, along with some of my past videos. I asked if they’d be interested in getting involved with the project. To some extent, I feel they genuinely just wanted to help out and weren’t overly concerned with getting a return on investment. In the commercial sector (such as my main job, making videos for corporate clients), companies sometimes pay $40K to a marketing agency for an ad that might only generate a few leads (paying customers). And these types of ads don’t resonate well with newer generations. I think the influencer market is wildly underrated at the moment, but at its core, if you create content of high quality, it genuinely doesn’t matter if your audience is small. People just appreciate quality. When I had around 1,000-2,000 subscribers, I didn’t initially reach out to companies because I didn’t feel I could provide them with a return on investment. Yet companies kept reaching out to me anyway, which was surprising. At one point, I even told a brand that I’d rather not take the sponsorship because I didn’t think I could provide them with enough value. They responded that they simply wanted to support the channel and appreciated the quality of the content, saying they believed I’d eventually grow my audience to match that quality. (So, I guess it’s a bit like investing in stock-you buy low, haha.) To answer your question: quality above all else. But it’s definitely not that simple-it takes a lot of hard work, more than I ever realized. I’d hear people say it takes hard work, but I didn’t truly understand until recently. It’s mind-blowing how many hours it takes to learn the necessary skills and develop the reflective skills to make this work. Oh yeah, the PCBWay sponsorship was similar. They reached out when I had around 1,000 subscribers, and it was one of the first contracts I signed for a longer period. They were impressed with the quality of my videos and genuinely wanted to help out (either that or I’m wildly underestimating myself). I feel they’ve helped me more than I’ve helped them, honestly. Just that little push of “make a video this week,” and for some reason, those videos always do well.

I love the progress of this table and your narration through it! I got one question though that I didn't really understand. Why do you need two teleprompters?
@FlatLanderTech2 ай бұрын
Thank you! glad you enjoyed Its definitely a little overkill to have 2 and I might actually stick with one so the audio interface can go back there but it has to do with where the key light will be placed, if id like to have a shot where the key light comes from the other side ( so hits my face from the other side ) the camera can just be mounted behind that other teleprompter instead of having to set up a second lighting solution. and also different forms of content, so the idea is to have one side for a more permanent camera that can switch on and is immediately ready to go, while the other side is using my main camera that clips on and off the setup. So not great reasons I completely understand that might seem like a waste but as if it saves time its worth it sometimes :)

I'm full of questions. 1.) Are the speaker mounts a custom-made item? Partially? 3D printed? 2.) Where do you find the pole mounts that you attach them to? I assume those are a purchased with custom mounting?
@FlatLanderTech16 күн бұрын
The speakers are screwed into a VESA mount plate, which is a standard type of plate often used to connect to the back of a monitor, allowing it to attach to one of these arms. The arm itself is a monitor arm pole, similar to this one: Amazon link. I modified them a couple of years ago to allow cables to run through them. I couldn't find my exact version, but most of these are quite similar. The 3D-printed piece is just used to increase the length a little between the VESA mount and the speaker. It's not necessarily required, but in this case, it really helped position the speaker correctly. Hope this helped with your questions :)
@thethirdflash16 күн бұрын
@FlatLanderTech Thanks for the reply. That actually would simplify and secure the speakers better than my setup. I grabbed a pair of mini pc vesa mounts to effectively use as a shelf to set the speakers on at the end of monitor mounting arms. My speakers are Eris 3.5s which are plastic cases. I don't think I want to drill into them to attach the vesa mount. But thanks for the idea for the future.
