Enjoy your videos, especially since I run an Epilog as well. Your previous one about the powder coated mugs was helpful. I would love to see how you deal with the parallax effect on the the glasses with a taper.

The Talc is great, works with all reflective surfaces , transparent and dark colored object, and works with fiber laser engraving too! Do it!

This video is godsent now that I’m trying to get into engraving glass. I keep getting different results even with some blazer orange tape.
@LaserEngraving911 Жыл бұрын
awesome! I never use tape of any kind as you see in the video, just dial in your setting and use some dish soap IF you even need it, usually just for thin glass, glad it helped!!

Great video. Love that Dawn works so well. It is a lot less and easier to clean off than the orange blaze tape.

It really is! Im not a fan of tape for that very reason!

Talc Powder.. its a great tool to have in your laser engraving business!

Thanks Michael, timing is everything, and yours is good. I've not used the rotary or done glass on my diode lasers yet, but will soon, and the info you provided will help. Talc to see the laser point is a nice touch.

Great video, very informative. i plan on buying a xtool s1 (40 / 2w IR) to laser etch glass bottles for my hot sauce. Do you think the machine is capable of reliable etching the glass? Is there any notable difference between etching the glass while empty, or while full?
@LaserEngraving9114 ай бұрын
Dont get the S1 for engraving on glass. The S1 is a diode laser and cannot engrave glass without doing a whole bunch of work arounds, its not the right laser for the job. You want to get the P2 "Co2" laser from xtool 55watt with rotary tool check this link out shrsl.com/4fnxt The P2 is a great laser for doing glass, and you can do the glass bottle full or empty doesn't matter. Hope that helps

nice video! Thanks for all this tips! is it possible to use a fiber laser to engrave glass?
@LaserEngraving911 Жыл бұрын
Thanks! no unfortunately you cannot use a fiber laser with glass, but you can look at UV lasers for glass, there are lots of videos on this, the main lasers for use on glass are Co2 and UV lasers.

Love the video and explanation. Really helpful. is there absolutely no way to get a gold engraving? I only see 'white/silver' engraving results. How would I be able to get a 'gold' engraving?
@LaserEngraving9119 ай бұрын
There is but it involved a different process, see how the pros do it here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jX_FnZhpir2dp68 you will need a sandblasting cabinet and lots of other fun toys.

Love the close up views! Any idea what 40% speed equates to in mm/sec on your Epilog? I've always engraved glass at much lower power even on my 60W. I think I found my sweet spot to be around 200mm/sec at 19% power.
@LaserEngraving911 Жыл бұрын
Thanks! The Epilog In The video is the M2 Fusion max speed is 3048mm/sec so 40% of that would be the answer, so 1219mm/sec, I think my setting works for me cause if the speed that available on this machine, plus having the 120watts, I think if your setting sound like a good stating point, try messing around with difference dither patterns too!
@directedt3ch Жыл бұрын
@@LaserEngraving911 Thanks! When I saw 90% power my first thought was WHAT?!? But then I thought about how fast those Epilogs move :) Appreciate your tips!

I have a 60 w omtech. Any idea on starter settings to use? Full power? Trying to do a whiskey bottle
@LaserEngraving911Ай бұрын
I would get your self some scrap bottles from Goodwill and test your setting on this before you do the actual whiskey bottle.. Med Speed, Max power, 300 to 400dpi, Jarvis dither.

Do you find there is a big swing in power settings and speed from different glasses, or once you find one good power and speed setting it works all of the time?
@LaserEngraving911 Жыл бұрын
Once You have the setting, your pretty much golden on most glass, however for thin glass you need to power down a bit, so bets to create a setting for thin glass and thick glass. 👍👍
