Last Circuit Days track day at Nurburgring including Laps with Misha - The END of the M5 DCT!

Welcome to the last video update for the E39 M5 DCT project.
By the time you watch this, it'll of been broken for parts and stripped for all the bits I want to save and the rest sold.
We start off at Neville Hill depot in Leeds for a PBMW photoshoot and then head over to the Nurburgring to watch moderate lap with a 165mph flythrough start down Döttinger Höhe.
Then there's a bit of an update out there as to why I cut short the TD - It was the fuel pump relay that gave up and was creating high resistance and the fuel pump attemping to draw current simply couldn't and kept cutting back and causing misfires at high RPM.
After that, there's the Misha lap, which you'll of already seen no doubt, but with extra carpark chat at the end.

I was curious how the m5 would run with some proper maps for the DCT. This was a fantastic project to follow and I wish you lots of luck with the M3! I al in serious doubt to swap my bmw e38 with a 8hp70 / turbolamik tcu.

Turbolamic or CanTCU would be ideal for you. The 8HP is almost plug/play electronically on the E38/9 platform as a lot of the development was done with the E46 platform which uses similar CAN architecture

@WestinghouseProductions yea I've been in touch with Turbolamik. You can send yer wishes and what lengths cables you need and they will make a base tune on they're tcu. Just saving some extra money since I can't remember a project going flawless. However the original 5hp24 has an alpina tune on it now. I'll just wait for it to go bad and start the 8hp project. Can you explain the inlet's at the side of the bumper and the front of the bumper but not in the usual lower grill location. Also brake ducts did you have them running somewhere or just open. Also does the E39 have enough room to be cooled properly?

Hi John, the only parts left are the engine, IKE and DME, everything else was sold.

@@WestinghouseProductions thanks for the reply. Inspired by your project I’ll be mating a 7sp DCT to an M6246 with an M5 LSD. My transmission is starting to go in to failsafe and I’d prefer to upgrade to something more spicey!

In that case, I still have the adaptor plate to mate the GS7 box to the S/M62 and sprung hub flywheel which you’ll need. Drop me a DM and we’ll go from there.
