My husband fought a ten year battle with early onset dementia. I know the struggle. She is so blessed to have you by her side through this journey. ❤

Most people who are 2 day post op are getting pain med every 4-6 hours. She doesn’t know to ask for it so you have to. She’s not going to get addicted in a week or 2 like some people worry. She will need it before any kind of physical therapy session. Please remember to ask for it.When she is so mad like this at least try pain meds. Make sure the surgeon wrote an order for pain meds for the nursing home. If he didn’t have the home call for an order. I had this surgery and I cringe every time they move her thinking she has not been medicated. I’m also a nurse.

I went every day to see my boyfriend of 50 years. And he is now with me and I take care of him. He had a stroke and he can't talk well now. And he gets confused easily too. Being mentally ill sucks

Not a job 😂. My friend is a CNA & cares for dementia patients in their home. She is constantly saying "good job" I find it anoying but I don't know if it bothers patients.

Why do you mix her food up. Sweet and savory? Does she not use utensils by herself? I know some people with dementia lose the ability to hold items. So sad! You are very patient!
