Them Fox sure are adorable. We had a family for a number of years until the coyotes killed them off. Fox never bothered the chickens, coyotes did until they got lead poisoning. I really miss my 65 Pontiac StarChief and 67 Olds Cutlass. Man they were great cars, should never have sold them but the rust belt rusts out everything. Had Pontiac GrandPrix that I really like also. I hope you have many years problem free on your truck, my 2003 Yukon has run great, only issue is the rust like everything.

Changing out the springs is a good insurance policy . Lifters being roller makes them heavier so inertia is in effect . Harder on rockers ,lifter rollers and springs . Don use old keepers new hardened keepers will work nicely .rockers and trunnions no needle bearings . I always install screens with epoxy and cow magnets in corners of cylinder heads no parts in the oil pan that will lock up oil pump or scatter particulate through oiling system . I even take cow magnets place them out side the oil filter can with big hose clamp around them so won’t fall of over time . Making oil filter a catch can . Which u cut open to examine for particulate matter. Do your own oil analysis. Been doing this since the 1960s. Oil consumption is also from bad or failing crank case ventilator . Also intake manifold gaskets retorque intake

And as far as I know none of them have had a single issue. Looks like you have some good crop prospects. I beleive there is a rope trick to hold up valves. Pushing the rope in spark plug hole so it wads up inside and when piston is rotated up the valve can't fall as the rope takes up space.

@Old-bold-pilot6 ай бұрын
Interesting story, 1968 I was learning to fly in a Cessna, landed with a rough engine. Old mechanic said it was a stuck valve. He pulled the valve cover off, pulled the spark plugs and stuffed the cylinder full of rope. Then pulled the valve spring off, pushed the valve into the cylinder and eventually worked the valve stem out the spark plug hole. Using emery cloth he cleaned the stem and guide. Reversed the procedure putting everything back together and the Lycoming engine ran like a champ. Cheers.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

The evap code for a leak in the system is almost always a bad gas cap. This is a SUPER common code among all brands of cars. Get a new gas cap and it should go away. The word you were looking for at the start of the video for mounting the rocker/bushing replacement onto was a trunnion.
@WelkerFarms6 ай бұрын
Unfortunately it isn't that, have put two on. It is somewhere in the EVAP tubing or Evan canister 😔 one day I'll get motivated and replace the whole system.
@wackowacko89316 ай бұрын
@@WelkerFarms Next step is to hook it to a smoke machine, it pumps visible smoke throughout the Evap system. You just look for where the smoke comes out. It's where any reputable shop or dealer would start. A smoke machine can be pricey and has limited use on a farm where most vehicles are diesel - so maybe you have a shop diagnose it for you, then you do the work of the repair. Replacing newer version Evap parts can add up, so that would be my advice if it bugs you enough to bother fixing it.

Older Toyota Tundra with the 5.7 would have been the ideal truck. No issues with them other than horrible fuel miles.
@hokie99106 ай бұрын
There is not a gas V8 engine that even comes close to the Toyota 5.7 in regards to durability and power. The domestics can do one but not the other. As far as gas mileage I’m tired of people saying the Toyota is so much worse, it’s not. Go onto fuelly and look at a 2017 tundra vs a Ford F-150…the mpgs in the real world are not much different. My wife had a suburban and now a Lexus lx 570….fuel economy…within .2 of an mpg….except the Lexus doesn’t burn oil, leak oil, and it has so much more power it’s not even close.
@bradh74726 ай бұрын
@@hokie9910 Yep Toyota 5.7 extremely durable. Why do yo get tired of people saying they get bad fuel miles? If you don't then shouldn't bother you. No skin off your back. Drive it and enjoy. I hear more that say they get bad fuel miles than good. Just saying. I know people with them and they even say it. 11 city at times maybe 15-16 hwy. @@bradh7472 The facts just don’t support it. The Tundra has a small gas tank so I think folks just get fired up because they have to fill up more often,
