Nah, fucking big deal. They are actually in fact several Siouan languages out there dinstinctly similar to Wichita and learning their basically fundamental structure is closely attaching as learning any other Sioaun langage. You have to worry more about the Caddoan language family since it's unique and few speaker of those languages are left.

Aoi Kawasaji You do realize that every time a language dies, it’s parent “language family” is at risk, right? Native American languages are passing away, unfortunately. Navajo is the last major language remaining in North America, at least one with a large number of speakers. That’s down to 170,000 or so speakers.

Jon G No, that's actually no thing to realize. Actually you tragically misuse that word "realize" stupidly and illogically. I don't think it means what you think it means. Also you accuse me unfairly of implying "every time". Well, I actually don't refer for "every time" but if a language is moribund to start with people are at fault and can't literally preserve it anymore since 10 minds can't keep all the words because they still forgetting constantly and it is already dead. Most people aren't really interested in learning either. Such languages must be meticulously preserved through literature & a vast number of speakers like Navajo.

I am Choctaw and Chickasaw my tribe is now teaching our language in schools. Sono not all Native American languages are dying because we are making an effort to keep it alive.

I hope all her efforts will help the Wichita people to be able to save the language before it is to late. What an insightful woman.. May she rest in Peace with our Creator.

This is so powerful. Hopefully through recordings and what she wrote down, the language won’t be lost. It’s sad how many native cultures and languages were not preserved and simply disappeared to history.

Thats sad that all the elders died without teaching the next generation how to speak Wichita. Now all they are going to be is just citizens of the U.S. & no one will believe they are Wichita without their language.

That's how the Wampanoag language was persevered and it is currently being revived here in Massachusetts.

Blacks are hypocrites when they call Indians $5 Indians. when DNA proved that all A.A. have on average 10-24 % European DNA. Blacks are no different than all mix-blood Indians. Many Indians are 100% Indian & not mixed with European but all A.A. are mix A.A. and European.

@@01Breakfan You're a hypocrite. Shes 50% European, but DNA proves all A.A. have on average 10-24% European DNA also. That makes all A.A. who call Indians 'bigget' are hypocrites since all A.A. also have European DNA. Youre no different than she is.
