Last Window manages to somehow be even better than Hotel Dusk. What a shame that this was Cing's last game.

Hotel Dusk and Last Window are hands down the best games on the ds, and one of those games that just doesn't hit the same without original hardware. Also, just a super cool use of the dual screens.

This is my favourite game to replay annually. I usually do Hotel Dusk around Christmas, wait a few days, and then replay this around the end of the year. It has a nice sense of finality to it.

I finally got around to completing this recently. While I can’t say the story stuck with me quite as much as Hotel Dusk, it’s still a very interesting sequel! A lot of the visuals and sounds feel improved from the first, and I think it’s interesting to compare which parts of the formula stuck between games and what changed. Also, the portraits in this game are all a bit more zoomed in, so there’s more facial detail in exchange for slightly cropped body language.

I liked this more than Hotel Dusk, but they're both awesome games. There's also quite a bit more FMV in this one. A lot more than I expected for a 128MB cart.

Hotel Dusk was a game that I remember really liking back in the day, on my DS Lite. Visual novels aren't typically my thing, but that game really drew me in with its story about Kyle and the characters he meets on his hunt for Bradley and the great writing. Not to mention its wonderful art style that Nintendo Power compared to the Take on Me music video. It kinda felt ahead of its time. Sadly, unlike, say, Xenoblade Chronicles, we in NA never got to experience this sequel after Europe's translation work (maybe we could've used another Project Rainfall for this), and thus I never got to see closure to Kyle's story in 17 years! It's been long enough. This game looks very interesting, and it's time to see how it plays out! Very unfortunate about the developer, I'm sure they would've thrived in this era. RIP Cing.
