$15 Digital Laser Photo Tachometer: Curious about speed of a tool? This might help, but is accurate?

I have one that looks much the same... other than some of the silkscreening. Had it 3 or 4 years, seems to work well! (Tip: Stow it sans battery.)

I have the same tach I bought years ago. Works good and the best I can determine is accurate. The only issue I've had is with the reflective tape. It doesn't stay in place at high RPM's. Got a small bottle of white acrylic paint and paint a mark on the shaft, works great. Not too sure about the RPM's above 22,000 RPM's. That, or the Chinese motor I bought was not correct as advertised. Who knows. Thanks for sharing.

Perhaps the tape should be on the side of the disk to get more accurate reading.
