Love to hear from you how sailing compares in your home country of NZ and now in Croatia - good, bad, ugly, tides, swells, similarities, differences.
@45DegreesSailing3 жыл бұрын
Haha, well... hard to compare they feel like polar opposites. Definitely not having deal with tides here is nice and easy. Great that there is so much shelter with the islands and close proximities. Swells never get as big here as they do in NZ!

Awesome vlog! Loving the winter sailing. Wish I was out there too. What do you think - time to get a gennaker for Nutka? Also - what’s the name of that restaurant - can you type it here please!
@45DegreesSailing3 жыл бұрын
Haha, down for a gennaker! Lastovo one is Konoba Santor. Mljet is Konoba Galija

Great video and how nice it must be to basically have the place for yourself. When did you film this ? What are the regs in wintertime ? No need for a special permit like in summer time, it is considered part of a national park if I am not mistaken ? Btw, I see you running around in bermuda, so curious what temperatures we are talking about. You make it look like it is 20 degrees, but would not be surprised if it is only 10 😀 Great drone shots btw, quite an accomplishment to take off and land the drone with all the sails up and being under way !
@45DegreesSailing Жыл бұрын
It is amazing having it all to myself indeed. I didnt see another sailing yacht until returning through the Split gates at the end of the week. Yes the sailing drone shots are the hardest to get! Most stressful part of my job lol. It would range in temp from... 5 degrees overnight to 15-18 in the day. Some days definitely not going above 10/12 degrees. Lovely swimming though 🤣
@davedavids9619 Жыл бұрын
@@45DegreesSailing already had the idea it was colder than it looked like on the video. For some reason Americans and Aussies think wintertime is a great time to walk around in T-shirt and Bermuda. 😀 You will see us in thick winter clothes by that time. 🤣👍
@sascha_sailing2 жыл бұрын
Hey Nick! Love your videos! Great cut between talking, great views, silence ... Dont know if you meantioned it, but what temperatures of air and water did you had on this trip? Would love to sail in winter but i get cold pretty fast and i'm a little concerned about it. Last September we wanted to go to Lastovo from Komiza but in no wind we diverted to Korcula, but i have to go there for sure! Regards Sascha
@45DegreesSailing2 жыл бұрын
Hey Sascha, thanks for that. Glad you are enjoying the channel! Air temp's I would estimate from 10-18 degrees. Water... I guess 10-12 degrees? Having not measured it I am not sure! Certainly when the wind was up it could get cold, the yacht was great with the webasto diesel heater, so I was never cold. Though I do not get cold very easily! And this is January, one of the coldest months of the year.
@SzymonidasSailing2 жыл бұрын
hi Nick, did you shoot this video in January 2022 ? Is it that nice over winter there ? cheers

Hey mate, I sure did! And yes.. it is that nice over winter here :) FYI the next 2 videos in this series are also shot in January. Lol its not all roses. And its all awesome!
