I believe I said this 4 years ago, but... China built the greatest wall ever built. It took centuries of building a series of smaller walls and joining them into the greatest wall ever built. It doesn't even have a name; it's just called the Great Wall of China because no other name is needed. Parts of it stood for centuries and still stand to this day. Even the parts are not maintained and are decaying still look impressive. The fact that it can be seen from orbit is a myth-but the fact that you believed it shows how great this wall was. Seriously, no wall ever built will come close. Restoring the whole thing would cost as much as the infrastructure budget on the entire Interstate Freeway System (and all the parts in the photos? Are a small portion of the entire wall; restoring all of it is infeasible, dangerous and pointless). And it FAILED at it's one job. The Mongols took one look at it and instead of going "oh, we should run away," they went "challenge accepted" and proceeded to conquer...well, pretty much everything in front of them (see "Yuan Dynasty" and "Mongol Empire"). It did NOTHING, but stand there and look impressive. (I'll give it this: at least it stood for centuries, looks impressive and failed to keep out one of the greatest armies in history instead of standing for months, looking pathetic and failing to keep out refugees).

@johntucker36934 жыл бұрын
@@suzy1750 The reason Israel's wall works (at achieving their despicable Zionist goals) is because there really isn't anywhere to go once you've crossed, and the area beyond it is guarded heavily. Besides, the wall of Israel is more to stop ground troops and vehicles moving en masse in case of war, but sole immigrants do not need to travel in cohorts and transport armored vehicles, they only need to transport themselves and whatever light stuff they're carrying with them. The number of illegal people in the US has been on the decline since 2007 as these people are either found or more commonly become legal citizens. Then lets' talk about how these people are getting in, the border control. Nearly all of the people that come illegally arrive legally with a visa and just never go back. Which a wall does nothing for. Not even to mention that there are videos of people scaling the wall quite easily with neither much skill, time or effort. If someone was determined enough to leave their country a little fence that falls over if you push too hard on is not going to stop them. Which by the way some parts of the wall have fallen over.

Snoglydox Fortunately Trump wasn’t able to put up hardly any new wall, so maintenance will be extremely minimal compared to if he built the wall on the entire southern border like he intended too. The creepy weird part is that I highly doubt Trump could care less about the wall. He only fought for it during his presidency because it was a huge reason he got elected. Why that is, is beyond me and scary frankly. It sickens me how Trump promised Mexico would pay for the wall during the campaign, but not ONCE did Trump say (again during his campaign) that “by Mexico paying for the wall” actually means the United States tax payers are paying for it, but will “supposedly” get that money back somehow due to the “benefits” of having the wall. Percy Shelley’s “Ozymandias” should be etched on that wall I met a traveller from an antique land Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand, Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown, And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command, Tell that its sculptor well those passions read Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things, The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed: And on the pedestal these words appear: 'My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!' Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away.
