What if Sultans of Swing had been written a couple of years later, during the hot summer of 1984. With a retrowave sound, reminiscent of Miami Vice and Don Henley's 'Boys of Summer'. By this time the guitar shredders had made their way onto the scene, so the final solo feels like the original solo, but on steroids. And I could not resist inviting some friends for a female vocal part and to play a sweltering '80s saxophone solo in the middle.

So good! As always the camera work and editing are top notch. Excellent use of the wide-screen. Loved when the boat sailed behind you just as you sang "We are the sultans of swing" perfect timing. The way you switched up the solo to make it more 80s was genius and technically impressive. The guest vocal and sax were divine.

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW THE BEST SO FAR (of anything Laszlo related) BY FAR Mark Knopfler should realistically sign over the rights to the original song to Laszlo. YOU OWN IT! Music, video, Miami Vice, the whole 80s feeling, that girl like in Iggy Pop' Candy etc etc Now... Sultans of the 90s... 2000s... 2010s... And how about doing something absolutely crazy, like Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Jimmy Hendrix, Johnny Cash versions of... GANGNAM STYLE!!!!!!! Or Springsteen's Born to Run and Iggy Pop's Passenger and then do with them anything you can think of, you are just too good to not make another masterpiece. My favorite musician🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Nice cover; the sax really gave it a bit of yacht-rock feel. What I really wish someone would do, though, is a jazz/swing/big band cover of Sultans of Swing. It seems like a no brainer, but as far as I can tell, no one has done it yet (at least not on KZbin). Unfortunately the idea is probably not suited to your channel, as it would work best with the horns leading and the guitar doing strictly rhythm, and we would miss the way you make it cry or sing.

Well, the Alchemy Live version was from 1984, wasn't it, and that is one of the best recordings of anything in the history of music. Though the '80s was a very funny decade with lots of different stuff going on and this cover certainly puts an interesting twist on it :)
