when i was a kid we were camping and i was making popcorn like that over a fire. Only it didnt do the pop, pop, pop thing.... there was one huge BANG that was so loud people from surrounding campsites came running to see what happened. Every single kernel popped at exactly the same time and it basically sounded like an explosion. I waited to see if there were any last minute pops but everything had popped. It was freaky!!
