You've almost outdone yourself with this one Doug. This might be my favorite video yet. The extra effort you take in setting up camera angles does NOT go unnoticed. I'm happy for you getting a fun and relaxing trip to unwind. I think most of us viewers felt a little unwinding too. Keep up the great work..........we appreciate it.

You truly have one of the greatest KZbin channels ever! I have shared it with many people that enjoy the outdoors and woodworking. You, Joe and Shawn have inspired me to get back into camping, and even to do more bushcraft. My dad just retired and is excited for your carving videos. When I can't be in the woods your videos help clear my mind and help me forget the stressful or traumatic parts of my job from my shift. I'm just re-watching this amazing video and had to share my thoughts and give credit where credit is due. Thanks for sharing this channel with us Doug, it is greatly appreciated. And amazing video!

Great show today Doug. First cast too, and third. Those looked like bass. I guess you know that you are a blessed man to live in such a beautiful place. Doug, your carving has improved greatly since I began watching. You are so right when you say one gets wrapped up in carving, I have carved for over 40 years and have been retired for 10 years and carve every day.it is still my most enjoyable pastime. The fish you catch are they large mouth if soi am suppressed to see them so far North. I am a Georgia boy and proud of it a beautiful state. Here we have large mouth bass in abundance.if you ever get down south try bass fishing here, God bless

Boy that reminds me of when I use to do same thing in the Adirondack mountains here in New York, take off with backpack , 4 wheeler and pistol. Park truck in parking lot of Woodhull mountain unload and drive back 14 miles to lean to at Woodhull lake. We hunted there out of a wall tent about 1/4 mile from lake . You could get a few bass and trout out of the lake , but when time to eat go to one of many beaver ponds and get some nice native Brookies for meals. I wasn’t in to craving back then like I am now so I would sit by fire and read or write in log what I did for the day, or do some drawing in sketch book. Can’t do it now with my hips bad as they are and 63 years old, but sure is great seeing you doing it and haven a great time. Keep making those memories because you never know when you won’t be able to some day ....

Hey Doug, I can’t begin to express how much I appreciate your videos. I would love to do this kind of camping myself. As a watercolor artist, I’ve always wanted to canoe out into a lake and paint scenes you normally wouldn’t see from shore and just camp the night. Carving is something you got me started in and I love it. Anyway keep posting your wonderful little adventures so if not in real life we can at least partake in your joy your craft.

Hello Doug, thank you, for the ride along in your canoe. I wholeheartedly, enjoyed this video from start to finish and I did see an area ( pine trees in the far distance) in your video that I plan to paint on canvas. I love painting landscapes for fun and now thanks to an order couple I met , who both carve, they have peaked my interest in carving. I’m taking care of my frail mother and painting has almost diminished for me ,but the carving is portable and allows me the time to create. Thank you, for sharing your time.
