Great video! I especially like the banter back and forth between you and Austin at the end. Gives it a personal touch. You guys are smashing it when it comes to content, videography, and information! Thanks Chad!

Excellent video! 100% agree! 30lb braid I mainly use for top water. I switched to 40lb, and i can tell the difference. Can't imagine 65lb. Top water in a fishing kayak is a blast. You were on point with weightless and swimjigs. Daren been picking donkeys up here with that. He was telling me about the same tips yesterday(via text). Rough season in southern Ohio with extreme drought conditions and low water levels. Northern Ohio been a little better. Keep the sicks vids coming!

I'll fish topwater until folks are out ice fishing 🤣 Great tips. I'm enjoying the cooler weather but hoping for a nice long fall.

I have found the worst time to fish was when they weren't bitting! Tight lines to you!

Thanks for the tips, Chad! Hopefully I can put them into practice here in NJ before it gets too cold to be sitting on the water and the parks restrict access for fishing.

My favorite part was the whole video.. UP until the "Why, you don't like this shirt??" So... Now that's my favorite part! 🤣🤣🤣 P.S. Stoked to find out about North Alabama Mountain Lakes!

Can you do a video on your crate. I have the black pack and I’d like to see how to attach it to the kayak with your straps. I’d also like to see how you added the second black pack box and attached your rod holders to it. I’d like to see how it functions.

I actually caught a nice limit yesterday.. 19", 17", 15", and a 13"... on the Oconee River in Milledgeville Ga... caught 3 on a whopper plopper, 2 on a black trick worm... accidentally caught 2 catfish over 15lb each... love your content Chad, have your book, and would live to fish with u someday..!!

What about a jig when the entire lake is thick hydrilla? I have a local lake with some giants but all I ever throw is a weightless senko or a frog because it is literally solid hydrila. Can you effectively use a jig in this scenario? I generally just drag a senko on top of the vegetation and let it fall in the thinner areas.

Maybe a Yamamoto Yamatanuki or some kind of bug with a 3/4 oz. tungsten bullet weight. Drop shot or Ned rig is an option. I'm no expert but I would try that

Awesome drone shots. I may need to switch up and try a green pumpkin fluke now. Caught them on lots of different stuff, but they wouldn't bite a shad colored fluke today. Covering lots of water and just junk fishing. Some on the bank, docks, deep grass edges, stumps/brush and shallower ledges.
@ChadHooverFishing2 ай бұрын
It’s crazy how they won’t bite a Shad color AT ALL and then you can use a green pumpkin in the same area and conditions and slay them
@stevenbartell80652 ай бұрын
Are you using the 3" or 4" Yama Craw for your jig trailer? Thanks for all you do.
@ChadHooverFishing2 ай бұрын
Mostly the 3”. If I’m fishing thicker grass or want a little slower fall then I will go with the 4”. I would say that I fish the 3” about 90% of the time

I’m fairly confident that the bass are biting what I’m throwing. I’m extremely confident that I’m not throwing a bait anywhere near a bass. Struggling to find them at the moment

Man,ive bass fished all my life but never really gained confidence with a jig. Ive used them all and the only ones that i can actually catch fish on are those tiny finesse jigs lol

Have you ever done a couple trips where you ONLY take the jig so you can build confidence in it?
@ChadHooverFishing2 ай бұрын
Also, try adding a little scent or a scented trailer. It covers foreign scents we introduce to the boat and it helps with lure retention and it also helps build your confidence in the jig.

hello, Chad you are so right about the line diameter and the gear ratio I just cant believe that some else concederes this a real issue. I was contemplating this the other day, how quickly the gear ration can cange and tought to my self it is not a problem cause no one else it looking at it. There is and you are totally right.
