Get that Dorman manifold off there and re-dyno post the results. My car lost a full 2 tenths in the 1/4 mile after I swapped the factory PI unit to a Dorman after it cracked. Quickly swapped back to the FRPP unit and it was noticeable difference.

A friend put a Dorman on a 03 CrownVic police car and it was a lot weaker.

Mine lost 25hp on the dyno. The dorman is a non pi intake that they put pi ports on just to make it fit the pi style heads. The ports are super tiny

The old dorman sucked..the new revised one is basically a plastic edelbrock.. my friend took the revised dorman off his crown vic and put on a ford pi and only gained 2 hp and 4 ftlbs.. BUT every car is different.. and different days will yield different results.

The car I'm rebuilding had a dorman on it, I bought the FRPP intake too. Side by side the size difference is amazing.

Sounds about right for stock. I ended up getting 485rwhp on my 2003 GT with a blower, cams and other supporting mods. Had a blast with that car.

that dorman intake is killing its breathing for sure.. swap an FRPP on it and do a back to back in a future video.. I'm sure its gotta be worth 5-8 hp easy based on what I've seen in runner length.. probably more in torque.. and with so many people loving to rag on the 2V engines, this car as is made 10rwhp more than the 89 GT you did a video on (albeit less torque) and more power than the 93 Cobra that you also did a video on.. these 2V engines are good performers and reliable.. yeah it would be nice if they had another 100hp but in their day they were good performers often dropping into the high 13s and low 14s when the 94-98 cars spent most of their lives in the 15s..

they are just overall, not good performing engines, especially pre 99'. I would assume a car rated at 260 crank HP would dyno more than one rated at 225, and the same goes for a car rated at 235hp, i'd also assume a car rated at 260 crank HP, with off road exhaust, would make more than both those fox cars, lmao.

@@ryanjamieson8779 Right.. it has more power.. that's my point.. yes the non PI engines were dogs.. but...they were for the most part on par with the 94-95 cars.. the 99-04 PI 2Vs stock vs stock will show a 5L its taillights... and yet you just said that overall they aren't good performing. I'm not trying to get into a pissing match by any means.. but the 2V mustang is a strong performer when compared to the 5L cars.. they certainly don't take modification nor do they have the aftermarket support of the 5L but they aren't the some people make them out to be. I think the Coyote spoiled us.

I agree 2v love would be nice especially since I know on your site there are alot of performance parts that supposedly give hp and tq gains. I would love like a customer like dyno type deal. Like I myself have always shown and inserted my car in every which way to help other new edge people to show what works and what doesn't. I would love to give my car up for a dyno run to LMR because I have almost every mod from then except my built engine and trans. I purchased my turbo kit from LMR but ordered a bigger turbo thru on3. I guessed 230 and 270. Was almost spot on....of course that's from owning an 01 and 04 gt, and they both dynoed similar results. The new edge is my favorite. First car was a 2000 v6 and also had an 03 mineral grey cobra....so 4 new edges total for me

Wow! No kidding? Well, looks like after this video was shot they decided to kick the car down the road literally! The parts are out there and still available to return these things into stock form. However, most folks do not do that. I have a 2003 GT red fire, premium coupe. The lift support struts went out in the trunk finally and the damn thing came down on my head one day when I was, pulling a case of beer out of the trunk. Went to get the original OEM lift support struts from the dealer and each side cost 120 bucks. I nearly had a heart attack but, after some friendly negotiation, the guy behind the parts counter shaved about 30 bucks off. Go figure!

Computer probably compensating for that, since they said the AF ratio dipped into the low 12s on their run. Sounds like it runs rich as a result. Run a proper tune on 93 and it would likely pick up 5-10 horsepower easily.

Angel Gutierrez I’m actually overhauling the engine this winter, cams, heads, pretty much any Na bolt on you can do to it. No forced induction. Me and my son are going to do it.
