When making a move to the BBK full-length headers, you’ll need to swap the mid-pipe for BBK’s off-road or catalytic x-pipe. Both x-pipes will bolt directly to your new BBK headers as well as the factory cat-back or an aftermarket cat-back that has factory-style connections. Its 2-3/4" mandrel-bent tubing will allow for a more free-flowing exhaust system; resulting in more power. Like the headers, each x-pipe is made in the USA and will include all needed hardware for installation.

I find it interesting how many folks are bashing the header install because it was "too much work" for the small power gain... you folks do realize that these headers were installed on a car with a stock intake, stock intake manifold, stock heads and stock cams right? Any one mod won't make big gains, but once you put them all together you start to see the power...

Only 19 and didn’t think my pops would be up for installing these with me until he told me he was, did it on a jack and jack stands over a long day and honestly wasn’t to bad, definitely gonna get some back and shoulder pain laying on the floor but as long you’re organized and strictly follow each step you’d be saving yourself $500-$600, I spent only about $100 buying some swivel sockets, deep sockets and other tools I didn’t already have. Do it yourself you won’t regret the learning experience.

I watch this video a few times and was convinced I could do the install. I actually got everything done in two days. If someone else was thinking of doing this I would advise a electric ratchet and a swivel socket. Also you might wanna get a flexible dip stick tube. Getting the old one back in after the header install is a b****. Also majority of the studs on the passenger side has to be taken out so you can get the header up in there.

Just to put this out there....BBK 62mm TB's, all BBK CAI's & BBK LT headers tune data is integrated into the OEM stock Ford 4.6L ECU tune mapping under the Options List so when LMR uploaded the tune they didn't need to write & upload a whole new tune, they only went into the STOCK OEM 4.6L tune map's Advanced Options List & checked the BBK LT headers selection under Exhaust (tells the ECU to use the already integrated BBK LT header tune mapping) & checked the rear O2 delete selection under O2 Sensors (tells the ECU to turn off the 2 rear O2 sensors in the ECU tune map & to stop monitoring\maintaining catalytic converters) then reflash the STOCK ECU map w\ the new mapping changes for the installed BBK products to the ECU. All you need is a tuner (like a SCT X3\X4) to access the ECU to do all this.

What I don't get about any of these videos or AM vids are that they always do a tune before the Dyno test.. And when I see Dyno tests of just the bama tuner or sct tuner, just with a simple tune the car gains 19-21 hp and 20-30 torque.. So what if all these power gains are from the tune and in reality you only gain 1-3 hp from the full exhaust? Or what if the tuner only gives 2-4 hp?? That's why I don't like it when before the Dyno test, they do a tune :/ but that's just me

Isn't there a break in period of 25-50 miles after you load a tune? So would dynoing it right after screw that and not deliver accurate numbers?
@MrGuardian1942
@MrGuardian1942 6 жыл бұрын
Usually there is a base aftermarket tune on the car before they tune for the part they've just installed. For example I imagine they add a new tune from stock even though there were only coil packs and a different muffler. Then they added a new tune for the header and mid pipe. Meaning, the last dyno pull was right after a tune (3), and the numbers it showed were an increase over the previous tune (2). That tune would've been an increase over the stock tune (1) from the factory.

I have a performance shop and do dyno tuning myself. I understand how modern cars run. what I should have asked is why not show the difference of stock vs. mod vs. mod+tune? to show why it is not only better but important to tune with major modifications. I'm a fan of bbk and I have noticed that even with just a offroad H-pipe and nothing else you still have to flash pcm to get the bbk claimed hp gain. when the way customers look at it is just put it on and that's the new hp number. I like the high standard of videos you guys put out and a video that shows the difference would be awesome to show customers.

Remove the 13mm bolt as shown. Inside the car, where the steershaft meets the firewall, remove the driver's side 10mm bolt and loosen the passenger side bolt. Then you can just move the steering shaft out of the way from under the car without removing it. Gives you plenty of room for installation vs removal

@@mikeray2782 Yeah man that's badass, but an H pipe with axleback, headers, tune, and intake are only gonna run you around 12-1500 bucks, and be more reliable than a forced induction car. Not to mention to continue to make power with the 3 valve 4.6 you have to build the whole engine. That's serious cash. If you just want a fun street car to turn some heads there's nothing wrong with FBO
