I have a 2006 mustang GT making 506 hp rear wheel, with a whipple sc with the pulleys and 10 lb boost and it handles it very well,lam still driving it .😎

I have the same exact mods on my 06 GT except I don’t have the intake manifold because I didn’t want to lose the CMCV. It made 360 whp/ 323 wtrq on a Mustang dyno. Plenty of power for the street.

Personally I’m going to replace my throttle body when I get a new air intake. It’s not a game changer by itself but those two parts with each other should make a difference

A lot of ppl will tell you it’s not worth it to mod a 3v just buy a coyote. But I can tell you I have an 08 gt premium 5 speed. Full bolt ons from jlt cold air, under drive pulleys, longtubes, cat/muffler delete, twin 60mm gt500 tb, ford racing manifold, 4.10 gears, rattler camshafts and a zex wet kit spraying 125-150 shot. I also have a 2019 gt pp1 10 speed and I still love the 3v. And with all my mods on the bottle it’ll run right there with a fbo e85 10 speed on a drag pack 50-140mph with in a fender. Beats the hell out of scat packs and 5th gen Camaros. I paid $6000 for the 3v almost 3 years ago and I’ve put about $5-6k into it but that’s everything suspension, tune, gauges, drag pack plus all the other I mentioned before. Car runs low 11’s on the bottle with a crappy 1.9-2.0 60ft. And deep into the 12’s on motor. For the $10-12k I have in the car I think it runs pretty good. Sounds awesome I still daily drive it rotating between it and the 10 speed.

BONE STOCK!!! 😮 they still exist…? Basically the same setup except I’m running Ford Hot-Rod cams with Kooks long tubes with stock axles through a 3:73 and aluminum driveshaft. Thanks for the numbers I can expect after you update my tune! I also just scored a NOS Ford Racing head, looking for the passenger side now.. you will have to fly to Texas soon Brent!

How much horsepower would It make retaining the stock throttle body/intake manifold with delete plates and stock manifolds with BBK # 1770 - 2 3/4" catted X mid pipe? I have a 2005 manual with FRPP aluminum driveshaft and 4.10s. Thanks!

Love the channel. I see how you opened up the power to 6700 RPM. Are there any concerns (even longevity) in doing this on stock heads? Just curious and thanks again for all that you do!

Went with the Throw back package min 420 at the weels with less farting around with 5 separate mods ! Under my hood for a weekend install and be done ✅ with it !

Good numbers, how much power would you get with those same mods running on 91, im planning on buying a sct w a tune from you guys since I cant find anyone that works and has knowledge on 3v mustangs like you guys do here in California everyone specializes in coyotes now a days... i want to have an idea lol before i put all my parts on

Stock heads and NSR cams 1 5/8. Stroker engine/bigger cams 1 3/4".

When y’all installed the TCI high stall torque converter did y’all add a bigger transmission cooler? Also what kind if so? I would appreciate a response thank you.

The OEM trans cooling is not that bad. BUT on anything in the car world cooler is better. You could add most any stand alone trans cooler and it would help. Not really a preference. Most people do not, but some do. And any name brand will work.

No love for the 2v i guess, but i've seen 2v Mustangs doing exactly these numbers with TFS top end n bolt ons.. My longer P71 2v did 309rwhp 321rwtrq with headers, TFS 38cc top end, MHS TFS stage 3 n/a cams n Marty Ochs remote dyno tune..lol

Thanks Brent... With gas going up a lot up here in Canada, I am rethinking mods to avoid 25% - 30% increase in fuel costs going from regular 86 or 87 octane to 91 or 93 octane. It would be good to know if a larger throttle body, cold air intake, exhaust (are long tubes more fuel efficient than shorty's?), would maintain or improve fuel efficiency for my daily driver. All those mods can be used with 87 octane. Long tubes are always better than a shorty header even on 87. I do not think MPG would be any different with a long tube vs. shorty and a more efficient engine often gets better MPG. Thanks for watching!

So wanting some extra power out of my 05 GT, would these mods here be better in the long run or just go with the Brenspeed Paxton 1200SL Throwback kit? Will be installing everything myself, and already have the JLT Series 3 on my car. Car is a fair weather daily too so driveability is one of my concerns also.

The parts price are very close buying every single bolt on parts or getting a non HO throwback kit. Of course all motor may be cheaper if you are doing the work yourself but if you are paying anybody to install everything the prices are almost identical and you get way more power with the paxton.

So what prevents the stock motor from making power past 5200rpms? restrictive exhaust/intake/cam profile?

Stock they tend to flatten out above that or start to drop some. Still pulls good but sort of tapped out. That is due to cam profile and small induction... not so much the stock exhaust manifolds but they do play a small role in that.

My opinion is both are very reliable. We do both a lot. I do not see an issue with one over the other. A blower of course makes more power but both are reliable.

Yes just not the headers we do not have a header option for that platform. But cams, intake manifold, etc.. we have installed on the explorer.

I have a 2007 Shelby gt350 4.6 3 valve with a vortech super charger,I am trying to install ford racing intake,but the thermostat housing is got me stuck,I watched your video about moding and did it but I can't turn the housing over the alternator bracket to keep hose off the pulley of the head unit..your bracket looked different is that a aftermarket bracket? I think mines the stock alternator bracket.. do you have a part number for it?

Assuming you have the normal vortech kit we just do what is in this video. You need to remove the spacer like in the video then clock it. Maybe yours has something different than normal not sure but here is the link. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5SchIGXopetkJo

@@BrenspeedEngineering yes sir I watched that video and after replying I was looking at the car and what you didn't show in the video is the black alternator bracket that bolts to the piece your using in the demonstration..I actually had to cut the black bracket where the long bolt goes,I cut half of the hole out to be able to clear the head unit..

Tough. Typically not on stock compression on a dynojet rated SAE. 350+ rear dynojet SAE is really good.

If it is a 3V yes you can use detroit rocker cams as well as a cold air designed for your truck like a K&N or something.

If you want a very light pedal we almost 100% of the time use Mcleod RST twin disk. Because its a twin disk the pedal is super light. Also in the future if you start doing mods it will support them. That is the only clutch I run in my own vehicles also. www.brenspeed.com/0510rst.html

Typically no change if you can keep your foot out of it. Some even report improved MPG.

Why are you not increasing compression ratio of the na engine in usa?

Normally most all motor clients keep the stock engine and do bolt on parts if staying all motor. The only time they dig into the engine is to build it for high boost. Because of that, normally compression does not increased on the 3V for bolt on builds. The cost would be pretty high just to increase compression if the engine does not need rebuilt.

These are one of the best values you can rip on a little bit. Everybody wants a coyote. to be honest 3v have enough power to have fun on. Truthfully the people that want coyotes probably don't know how to handle that much power.

We build a lot of 800-1000 rwhp coyotes that I assure you hardly get hammered on the street. Crazy for most people.

The 3V parts do not fit a 2V if you are talking crown vic or something like that.

There is not really a rating on that. BUT most auto cars with stock engine just get a supercharger without issue. The hardest thing on an auto 3V is cruising in 5th and doing kick downs where it drops into 2nd. Upshifts are not the problem. It is just constant wide open big power downshifts that hurts it as it is almost like a neutral drop. So respect it... manually pull it down if you are on a highway and want to do kicks.

How do you think from your experience, will it may help prolonging transmission's life? I mean you can manually downshift with it without using kick down.

Not when you go from 100% stock to all those mods. Yes a couple parts shift the power up but you also are adding several parts that increase the low vs stock.

Idk if the intake manifold and throttle bodies are really worth it i have a similar setup intake,cams, and headers and made 349 this car only makes 4 more hp eith throttle body plus intake manifold

You can't compare different dynos and different days everyone knows this. There is too much of a variance.

Can somebody explain to me what the certain appeal is here? No hate and if this is what you enjoy go for it and enjoy your build. Im just struggling to understand the appeal, a 15-19 year old car for 10-13k with probably very high miles so the expensive motor issues will soon come, and then on top of that 3-4k to go fbo and only to make these numbers? I just dont think i could do that when there are modern vehicles with smaller displacement that are almost faster stock and wouldnt take as much money to raise whp numbers to match but probably exceed this. Is it just for the v8 noises? And probably 1100-1400 if you want a modern interior. Again no hate and if this is what you enjoy go for it, but i think bang for your buck its just not a great decision. Im not much of a mustang guy anyway but man those 5.0’s are nice especially when paired with that 10speed. I just dont think the 3v’s were a good time for mustangs.

Some cars are just fun to drive. Think a guy driving around in 1969 mustang in 1999 was worried about his 0-60 compared to that years model probably not but the 05 mustang started a new generations of muscle car by bringing back the retro look. Everyone else followed suit soon after from dodge to Chevy etc.... I'm looking to drive around and throw my head back a little while shifting myself. I'm not looking to measure my wallet or my dick at the stoplight by showing off, not how good I am at anything but by how much I can overspend for something I can't and probably wouldn't use 99.9%of the time. I doubt half those fools even install themselves. They hire someone to. Not sure where your pride comes from haha. I'm just looking to have a little fun , listen to some exhaust pops under a bridge and try not to be a fool and kill myself....

Procharger is gonna cost more money lol. Also you can do mods like this incrementally not everyone has a ton of money to drop on boost. You could also boost it later with these mods and make a reliable 500 rwhp on 93 you can't do that with boost on a stock long block and manifolds. You could run over 500 wheel with this setup and a centrifugal.

All mods that affect power in the video: Ford racing manifold (Should rev it out to 7k rpm otherwise this manifold hurts gains) Intake Throttle body Stage 1 cams nsr Pypes long tubes headers Highflow cats Underdrive pullies Aluminum drive shaft And obvsly a tune on 93 octane

Imagine spending $24-42k on a Coyote Mustang for 350-380rwhp, hahaha!! Modding any car costs chunks of mula.. i spent $5k on my 2v n gained 60rwhp.. Pay to play!!

That's over 3k i think id save up a little more and get a blower if i planned to drop good money at one time but i suppose if you got the mods over time it would make more sense and he fun.

​@Dburnslay 999 they handle it fine as long as you don't push them too far. A setup like this could do 500 to the tires safely on 93 octane with a blower on it especially if it's a more efficient modern blower like a nice 2.3 tvs or something.
