That was incredible! I'll be coming back to this video again and again to follow through your process.

Thanks for pointing me to Wavesharp 2. I will be trying it our asap!!

I just started using it myself when I was updating all of my software to make this video. It's nice to see a community of people still updating this free software after so many years.

Awesome video. Finally an updated planetary capture and processing video. Did you use a Powermate or Barlow? I always enjoy your presentation style

My more affordable Astromania 3x barlow gave a more pleasing result with my camera's sensor than my more expensive 2x Explore Scientific focal extender on both planets.

Your restraint against over-processing is perfect, very natural pictures. Currently I need to relearn my camera software, sitting in the cold and dark is tough time to figure out why I've got a black screen on my laptop. :))

Thanks for the video. I was out the same night with my first attempt at the same planets. Your WaveSharp instruction especially helped me a lot.

Lots of props for doing this on a manual mount! I do my planetary imaging with a Celestron C6 SCT with a 2x barlow and I can't imagine trying it on a manual mount without tracking.

Thanks for this video! I am still using Autostakkert 3.x, was not aware of a newer version, let alone that WaveSharp even existed. But planetary is new to me.

Nice video, I'd never used pipp prior to doing autostakkert, i think it only adds some efficiency to doing the autostakkert part, autostakkert handles it pretty well on its own i'd say. It might also depend how close to center the target was in the original video.

I have a canon 2000d, what would be the best video configuration for planetary, 1080p at 30fps or 720p at 60fps? great video btw very usefull
@LateNightAstronomy24 күн бұрын
Always good to experiment with both but I would choose frame rate over resolution. Go with 720p at 60fps.
@martinvillamayor535421 күн бұрын
@@LateNightAstronomy just shot jupiter at 30 and 60 fps and the 30fps image after processing looks better, more surface detail due to the resolution. I also expected the higher frame rate to be better but in my case seems that not so much

@@martinvillamayor5354 It would be cool to see the results from both settings, do you plan to post them anywhere?

Great video! I follow this process but my picture comes out really small, then when I zoom in it’s very pixelated….i am shooting through a SCT 6SE with a 3x Barlow, is that the reason? Or is there something I can do about that?

Thank you! I have been using your previous videos as guides for planetary processing and sharing them with others whenever I can. This is a great update. If you could do a tutorial on how to do a Jupiter moon transit gif with PIPP that would be much appreciated. Here's my first attempt at it kzbin.infoOmSyEXRUims

I'm glad you've found my videos helpful. Not having a telescope that can track Jupiter throughout the night makes that a hard thing for me to actually create using my equipment. I have seen others do it though and it is a really cool thing to capture and process.

Since opposition I have been toying with the idea of building an equatorial mount. Would you ever consider building one? The link above is all from individual photos processed using the techniques you shared in your last video
