Scale Mode is working great, love it! However when I switch back to regular Note Mode the Pink pads are not changing to the appropriate root of the chosen Scale Mode. Is this normal behavior?

Hello! Can you use a launchpad for GarageBand on IOS?

I bought one of these last week and it's a very useful controller. I've found that it even works when plugged into the Focusrite iTrack Dock, which is a bonus for me.

Zeeon sounds great in this demo! So many ipad synth demos sound poor on youtube. It really makes me question whether or not the ipad synth eco system is worth investing in. Thanks for the overview, really dig your xequence and aum vids.

I just got the LaunchPad Pro to work with a bunch of iOS apps. The drum mode on mine does nothing. Maybe only certain apps use drum mode or you have to MIDI map it?

After applying the Scale Mode update the drum mode now works :)

Hi Mitch, love all your videos. I am struggling linking Atom sequencer with LaunchpadPro. I have figured out how to midi learn Launchpad to Atom but would like to see the button lite to show I have pressed the button to trigger Atom. Hope you understand what I am attempting to achieve.

Answering my own question, I now realise no script has yet been written for the Launchpad Pro. I was a demo of Atom working with the new Launchpad and assumed... der... no worries buddy

do all launchpad pros have after touch or is this an new upgraded version of the pro?
@TheAudioDabbler7 жыл бұрын
As far as I know, all the "Pro" version has it, and its been the same since it came out. There have been firmware updates to it adding scale mode and such but as far as the actual hardware it hasnt changed. There are a few other launchpads like the mini, S, the regular launchpad. None of those have pressure or velocity sensitivity, only the Pro version.

Very nice jam and tutorial! So, I have a iConnectaudio4+ and midi4+, is it possible to use Launchpad Pro with the iPad and Ableton together at the same time? Which of the three ports do you use for Ableton, and the iPad?
@vincentfn7 жыл бұрын
(because I would like to control drum-midi and launcher for Ableton, and notes/melodies for the iPad at the same time? :)
@TheAudioDabbler7 жыл бұрын
You can do it. Just switch between the Live and Midi mode using the setup button. Make sure inside of Ableton you have the launchpad Midi port unselected or no tracks armed as it will still send notes to Ableton though the midi port as well. I plan on future videos showing some Ableton Live and iPad workflows.
@vincentfn7 жыл бұрын
Ah man that's great! I'll check it out, thanks for your reply and explanation! :D

And in this setup, does the usb-port going to the PC and the breakout-midi-out to the iConnectmidi/audio, like at the same time?
@TheAudioDabbler7 жыл бұрын
I am not using the Breakout midi cables. The USB port alone has 2 devices sitting on it. The Live port and the midi port. The live port is what talks to ableton live directly. The USB midi port and the Breakout cable port, seem to be the same except one is over USB and the other is over the breakout cables. So when you are in live mode, midi is sent out using the Live port, when you are in one of the other modes, midi is sent out via the Midi port and the Standalone breakout port.

Hi sir … can u teach me how to play in Launchpad pro?
@slimbeaux6 жыл бұрын
Would have been nice to have a list of apps that you were using. Also I had to have my Pro in Standalone mode to have it communicate. Tried it with DrumKick, Poison, and Zeeon. But still lots of help. Oh, and when you do the s/u & pad thing mine will spell out which mode I was in. I think yours did it too
@TheAudioDabbler6 жыл бұрын
As far as I remember, I was just using iM1 and Zeeon in this video. Did you maybe mean which patches I was using? I think I was using Future Singer or something on Zeeon. Yes the S/U does spell out the mode but it takes it a minute so it is easier to just "rememorize" which is which.

You should really try the polyphonic aftertouch. iM1 supports it, as does Model 15, Animoog, iSEM, and surprisingly Garageband. Some others do too.

Thanks for the tip. I played around with the Poly last night. Pretty fun stuff.

So I have LauncPad Pro and a LaunchKey 25. Would love to record music. Could I use these (3) items together? (IPAD, LaunchPad Pro, LauncKey 25). Would the IPAD Pro use something like Ableton or something better? Thanks in advance

Hey do you know if the Launchpad Mini has built-in scales?
@TheAudioDabbler5 жыл бұрын
I don't think so, at least not natively. You may be able to accomplish something similar with MAX for live or other type of software.

Wondering how you like controlling Ableton live with it?
@TheAudioDabbler7 жыл бұрын
I really enjoy controlling ableton with it. I only have Ableton Lite but combine that with my iPad and I can quickly record loops and make melodies without having to use the mouse as much. Not as computer free as a Push would be but a giant step in the right direction.

Interresring... Can I use an iPad as a launchpad to control Ableton live?
@TheAudioDabbler4 жыл бұрын
yes, there are several apps in the app store that allows the iPad to act as a controller for Ableton Live. The first one that comes to mind is LK by Imaginando. There are also several others too

Can you connect launchpad pro to ios garage band with i rig pro?
@TheAudioDabbler6 жыл бұрын
I would imagine yes. A note though, It seems the iRigPro can accept 5pin midi in and out so you will need to make sure you provide power to the Launched Pro, either via the power adapter or USB. The launchpad comes with breakout cables to use with 5pin Midi.
@alexrafter6 жыл бұрын
Shame the mini version doesn’t have velocity sensitivity. I’d get that straight away.

Have you played with the SuperLights iOS app with your LLP? I saw a review that Kaskobi did on it and it looked really good ... free with ads so I tried it and it is really fun ... and for me it’s educational. I’m using it with my iPhone and your OTG mobile method using a power bank charger (another of your great tutorials). The ads are really annoying , especially since you have to watch one for every free kit they have (they have many) so I paid for a 1 month subscription. The developers have tutorials on many, maybe all, of their free kits. I’m learning to import and chop songs from my iTunes library and that’s really fun. Love to see you do a tutorial on it :)

Didn’t recognise for me either, (even went through novation and they told me lightening lead to camera kit set up, but doesn’t work with the pro)how did you get round it again? Please.
@TheAudioDabbler7 жыл бұрын
If you are using it standalone with the iPad, then a powered USB hub is required along with the Camera Connection Kit. Sometimes I have had to plug and unplug the launchpad, and everything and turn the power on and off a few times to get it to finally work.
@theannuki6 жыл бұрын
TheAudioDabbler thanks for the advice dude. I got round the problem now by getting an extra power camera adapter kit from the apple store, a little pricey (around £40-45)but well worth it. Thanks again dude. 19c.

how do I get it to send mod wheel?
@TheAudioDabbler7 жыл бұрын
Not sure if it can send mod wheel, you cant adjust the cc's without some extra programming. each pad has aftertouch so depending on the software that you are using, you might be able to reassign the Aftertouch it to Midi CC 1, which is the mod wheel.
