My husband has incredible technical skills but not these kind of skills. He is short on time. We are short on money but not on what needs to be done. I am short on skills and time, too. So stuff doesn't get done. We haven't trashed our house at all but after these 20 years of not being updated or improved it'll probably sell as a tear-down when we finally move.

Isn’t is great to have a husband who likes to diy? My hubby is the same way. We remodeled our whole house with very little paid help! My husband and I did 90% of the work ourselves! I’m getting ready to tackle the laundry room again...we have been painting and redecorating the whole house, AGAIN after 10 years! Love what you did with the laundry room!

Looks great! I would have kept the sink. I got one that looks like a bathroom vanity but has a deep sink. I use mine for pre rinse and especially for my hubby to wash up after working on the cars, also for cleaning out my paintbrushes. Maybe you could find a used small chest of drawers , paint it white, use the top for folding clothes on and you could use the drawers for storage ! Love the floor tile great job both of you. It’s nice to have a handy hubby!

Came out really nice. I would add another shelf at the top for more storage. Also, I would have kept the sink for cleaning out paint brushes, soaking items, washing out mop buckets and so much more. Install a shelf above it for folding that can swing upwards and hook to the wall above or something like that. What a great idea about spray painting the handles on the mops. Very neat.

We just finished building a new laundry room using some space at the back of our garage. I am so happy to have it done. I picked up a used sink top with a drain board. I also found a year old washer and dryer for $300.

You should have installed a Drop Down fold up table so when its not in use.. its up against the wall. They are super easy to DIY or you can even purchase a few different kinds. Nice job!

When I saw your thumbnail and clicked on it I was be expecting to see updating with new Farmhouse decor. As I started watching I was in awe and mesmerized by what I was seeing! WOW!! Your husband knows his way around a renovation!!! He is GOOD!!! What a blessing he is!!! My husband has ZERO patience and many years ago I banned him from doing anything so as not to hear him complaining when he tried to do any fixit jobs!!! Deonna Bobbitt we laminated over the textured ceiling with 1/2 drywall and finished smooth. For the floors, we installed a tile backer over the existing linoleum and installed the wood look tile.

We live in an apartment with no real laundry....gee I miss the sink! So glad you left the plumbing there!

Watching this was quite interesting and informative. I'm glad you decided to get rid of the sink. I always think extra storage is never a waste concept. I hate my laundry area. It's not a proper room, merely a closet with no real space for folding, detergents, bleach, etc.,. The only thing I would change about your makeover--and I don't know if it's even possible--would be to move the washer & dryer to the back wall so your laundry room then becomes deep and you get two walls for storage or whatever. Well done!
