Hi Laura, My Mother had two cast iron skillets, she bought them in the later 1940's!!! I grew up watching my Mother cook in them. She gave me one and I treasure it. Also, when cooking with them, you get your daily dose of iron. I bake my cornbread in them and they turn out perfect every time with that beautiful brown crispy bottom layer. Eggs and bacon every morning, yummm! Grew up with country cooking;-) Thank you for your cooking recipes and I look forward to your Cookbook!!! Hopefully signed?

This is "The Meatloaf" recipe in my house. I am not sure why but it just gets better each time I make it. The whole family requests this meal at least once a week. I make a gravy to go over the mashed potatoes and we are set. Thank you Laura.

My great grandma cooked all her life on a cast iron wood stove, with all cast iron cookware. I still remember her with the cauldron heating over the fire in the back yard to can preserves every fall. That thing must have weighed 100 pounds easy. And its all I use to cook with to this day. Would love to see a video on the new ways to season this type of cookware.

Cast iron skillets are a kitchen work horse IMO. It's what everyone used back in the day. I love using it for some reason food still sticks in my Lodge brand skillet. I know it's not totally seasoned properly. A video on how to season your own skillet, care for it, cooking with it, storage YES please do one very helpful. Salisbury steak you can never go wrong with it. Between mac and cheese and this I don't know which is the better comfort food. Wonderful :)
