Thank you so much for the tips! I am going back and forth about the "day of planner." Did either of you have personal attendants? or host/hostesses? I am not 100% sure what the difference is. Could you give a couple examples of what kind of things your day of planner did for you?

Hi Stephanie! So, as for Host and Attendants, I was given one for my venue. My coordinator was the person that dealt with the host. So basically, in my case, the host represented the venue and my coordinator represented me so that all the decision could be made on my behalf on the day of so I wouldn't have to worry. Your day of coordinator makes sure that your itinerary stays on track, they guide your party and let them know when to walk down the aisle, make sure the dinner comes out during the right time, talks to the venue regarding any issues (we had a little seating mishap....she dealt with that), made sure our gifts were given to my parents to take home etc. They handle EVERYTHING on your big day so you don't. Does that make sense?

I'm having issues with ppl pushing the traditional things on me and not taking me seriously. For example, we don't have a center aisle at our church. There are 4 aisle that lead to the platform. I chose one that is meaninful to me because my fiance and I, right before we started dating, walking down that specific aisle during a Christmas play. When I thought about which aisle to walk down with my Dad and to walk out of with my husband, there was no question in my mind - of course it would be THAT aisle! Well, a person was very distressed about this because apparently that aisle is on the "wrong" side. As the bride, I must be on the left side. Um, no. No. I don't. Idc about that silly tradition that means nothing to me.... i care about the memories I have with that particular aisle. Good grief. Then when she finally appeared to concede about the aisle I wanted (even tho i am clearly "wrong"), she was being pushy about me crossing over to my "correct" side when I got to the front. Um no thanks.

Oh my gosh! That’s so challenging. Definitely choose what’s meaningful! I think it’s so beautiful you chose the aisle that means something to you! It’s the one day that centres around you and your fiancé, own it! I hope it is all smooth sailing from here on in! Xo

Sarah U that’s right. you do you. Why do people make it about themselves? It’s not their day its yours.

Sarah U the only reason the bride stands on the left is so the groom's sword hand is free. It's also where the 'Best Man' comes from, he'd help in the fight. Why is that so important these days?? It's a completely redundant tradition.
