I remember Biker Mice from Mars and Street Sharks as a kid. The cartoons and toys. Those were weird but fun. I was born in '79, and as young lad remember a bunch of mates sourcing "French bangers", which in retrospect were basically a fuse inserted into a cardboard tube of gunpowder. We cut so many of these open to harvest the contents and create "super bangers", aka actual explosive devices. We tried tying the fuses together too, but they always fizzled out at the knots, so had to use the super short fuse for the mega banger. None of that would be allowed in the UK now, but all great fun as British kids in the 90s.
@Clos93
@Clos93 4 жыл бұрын
Back when you could buy explosives as a kid a no one would bat an eye... Gotta love them pre-911 days and before the whole "War on Terror." 😂 Here in the States we called them M-80's. They were originally explosives for use for the military, but were sold at firework stands as firecrackers when I was a kid. Many a story about someone blowing off a part of their hand or a finger from a M-80 here in the States. We used to blowup action figures with them. But I had friends who had more mischievous intentions, like blowing up the neighbors mailbox... 😂

@@Clos93 Had a Google on those M-80 bad boys, and can guarantee without hesitation an attempt to make a mega-M80 would have been attempted if we had access to such awesomeness in early 90's Britain :)

@TheOnlyHellGod
@TheOnlyHellGod 4 жыл бұрын
@@teflonravager Well of course. If you wanna talk inflation, games are insanely cheap compared to how they were even 10 years ago. $50 USD in 1989 would be $106.51 🤯 today, and was indeed the norm. Some big RPGs and Flight Sims were like $100 ☠️ back then. It's just a bit sad that at one point (mid-to-late 2000s), you couldn't give PS1 games away. But that's the nature of collecting, supply, demand, and the CPI.

I also had Monster Face. It was kind of neat but was nowhere near as cool as the commercial made it seem (like most toys of the era). I can remember being sorely disappointed because that crazy pulsating, oozing wound seen in the commercial wasn't actually part of the real toy.
@Mockingbird650
@Mockingbird650 4 жыл бұрын
@@xxcrysad3000xx Actually you could create this effect (which I did) using the bladder, some clay molded into a blister shape, and some goop "encapsulated " in the clay mold. Slap the clay blister over & around the bladder, securing it to the monster face, fill it up with goop, and in my case fake blood, seal it up, attach the air bellow bulb & ooze away. I thought this was a particularly cool feature as it mimics a SFX used in actual movies.

When kids were stupid, the parents would encourage that the kid did nothing wrong. Now we got a generation who refuses to learn and listen to reason.

At least dads took their kids to Toy-R-Us back then. Dont get that anymore which is why T-R-U closed, also dads no being in the scene anymore.

@@alittlelifeleft8232 Times and Faces change but people dont. The new toy is social-media and certain web-sites which is for adults and kids. In fact more people are more stupid now than back in 1990, because those "ignorant" kids are now adults raising stupid kids. Almost like a cycle huh.
