FYI: Mold contamination spreads, so by the time you see visible mold in a palette the whole thing is a goner

I've seen multiple non-influencers post swatches of these. You can't see anything special about these outside of studio lighting or ring light. In regular scenarios, these look very sheer, not pigmented at all, and the sparkle barely picks up. If you want eyeshadow that looks cool for an instagram selfie once or twice before they turn moldy, these are your heroes.

Such a thorough video! I have my Chantecaille and Bobbi Brown singles, so I’m out on these. I also have pretty much only worn a matte eye for the past couple months, so I really and truly do not need to buy any shimmer shades, no matter have beautiful they look in theory.
@sarenag3679Ай бұрын
I think these are perfectly pretty shadows but the price point in Canada is absolutely ludicrous. They are $60 each and $93 customs and taxes. 😮 So almost $400 for 10 shades of sparkly powder. I have a ridiculous makeup collection. I don't mind spending my hard earned money on beautiful things. But I would be ashamed if I were P.T. trying to justify charging $400 for 10 eyeshadows. We have lost our minds if that seems reasonable. Thank you for all you do Lauren. I so appreciate your info and demos even though Satan would be snowblowing his driveway before I would ever spend that kind of money.
@Xxmilkshake202xXАй бұрын
I don’t think Patrick is thinking about Canada at all. Canada has Sephora so you can go get them in store. No one should be getting all the shades. No one is forcing people to make poor financial decisions.
@sarenag3679Ай бұрын
@ the closest Sephora to me is almost 8 hours away, so no I can't purchase in store. And my comment was not encouraging anyone to purchase all the shades. My money is my own. I can spend it how I please. When we are behaving as if having to spend $300 on 10 shades of eyeshadow is reasonable, that's when I have a problem. Whether I want to purchase or not, for $60 on his website, or $57 on Sephora, the price is absurd.
@HazyFace_Ай бұрын
I support you wholeheartedly, this pricing is not okay. You can buy a full indie quality palette for that price. Just no.
@ladidaohoh3168Ай бұрын
I can relate I’m from Canada as well, so it super disheartening when something is absurdly priced in the U.S, I always think, you should come to Canada and buy that lol, if I could justify spending $60 on two eyeshadows, I’m probably not donating enough to charity lol, and as Lauren mentioned super shocks by colour pop or Moira singles, are so similar in look it’s very hard to justify that price point.

I mean in the UK a single Urban Decay moondust is £20 so 2 for £40 these duos are £37. A single of the Bobbi Brown sparkly shadow is £30. So his pricing isn't that crazy compared to others, it's just because he's so popular he gets talked about more. That being said I can't see myself buying these because of the price, stunning multichromes are cheaper per pan than those brands.
@marylove909Ай бұрын
Considering the price of a single Urban Decay Moondust shadow or the Charlotte Tillbury singles, I don't think this price is out of line.
@shendisackettАй бұрын
I don't either. Here in the UK a Bobbi Brown single shadow of her specially sparkly formula is £30 and these are £37. People are forgetting that singles and duos are always way more expensive than a palette.

Thanks for your continued in-depth reviews. You are definitely my go-to reviewer, as I have a similar makeup style and you've never steered me wrong. I've been looking for a cooler toned brown shimmer, that doesn't break the bank and isn't in a bulky palette, for AGES. Looking at the brown duo that darker shade is definitely a satin, rather than a glittery shimmer. It's still pretty but not €42 pretty. I found a brown shimmer at Kiko Milano for €10 and the online swatch looks really promising (they also have a glorious lavendar with gold flip, but that's a different issue 😅). I have a store around the corner so I'm going to check it out in person later today. The shade is called Excellent Coffee, which I think is an awesome name 😆. Hoping it looks as good in person 🤞🏻

Omg! You bought them?!? 😱 You have so many more beautiful shades and palettes though. These are pretty, but I’ve seen better/similar products. I also see everyone saying that if it was a palette that they would buy it, and I was definitely like that too. However, when I thought about it from a marketing and entrepreneurial standpoint, if Patrick Ta Beauty put all of these in one palette, they would charge around $210 (or less), but not many people would buy it, because it would be completely out of the majority’s tax bracket. Marketing-wise, they know they will make a larger profit by separating them into smaller palettes and upping the price. The beauty influencers not on the PR lists and the makeup and shopping addicts (like me lol) will want to have them all for the insane sake of “collecting/reviewing”, and the rest of the stragglers will buy one duo or a few duos that they like. Either way, they make an astronomical profit, especially, with everyone going crazy about the price. I personally think that they tested it out with the foundation price, and when they got away with it, they did it again with the shadows. In my opinion, his brand (like many other brands right now) is playing in consumers faces with these prices. Patrick Ta Beauty is one of my favorite brands, so this isn’t a dig, just an observation from a marketing strategist 🤭 Love your review and all of the comparison swatches! This is my comfort channel lol

I agree 100%! Some Brands will come out at a higher price point and I believe they wait and see if the products will sell at that price. Some are worth it and some just aren’t.
@LavenderGlitter88Ай бұрын
How did you figure they would charge $420 for a palette of all of these shades? They are $42 for one duo/two shadows, $21 each, so for a palette of ten shadows they would be around $210…probably marked down a little to accommodate getting all of them (say, down to $200 or $190) or marked up a little to accommodate higher packaging costs ($220).
@KimberlyIreneFowlkesАй бұрын
@@PamelaH_HappyVibes so true!
@KimberlyIreneFowlkesАй бұрын
@@LavenderGlitter88 thanks for pointing that out. I definitely did the math wrong lol. I did $42 per palette times 10, instead of separating the shadows (simple human error 🤓🫣) Still, $210 for a palette is extreme (as a makeup lover, I’d probably still get it through), but the marketing still applies, they could charge $210 (or less) and see a smaller margin of customers or sell duos, take up the prices, and make a larger profit. Very smart money making practices. They feed off of makeup addicts. I’ve removed myself from buying so much makeup, thank God
