I am currently feeling crippled by making decisions. I am going through a divorce, trying to find a new job that I can better support myself with and I'm finally on the other side of anxiety and depression which had me struggling to function for the better part of last year. I think I can pinpoint approximately when I decided my intuition was "wrong". It was between 8-10 years old, when I was always told whatever I wanted to do in life was "wrong" and every career I dreamed of as a child had a flaw, according to my caregivers. Digging into the childhood stuff is always difficult thanks to trauma. Thank you for this video. I want to get myself back on track.

Oh my goodness, I've heard almost EXACTLY this same experience from so many INFJs and INFPs. Something happened in childhood that caused them to turn away from their intuition, and then as adults, they feel more lost than ever. You are a warrior, Gina, for even attempting to dig back into that old childhood trauma. I totally get it, it's super hard.

I border between ENFJ and ISTP but I highly resonate with all of this. I quit my engineering/tech career and have struggled with chronic depression, anxiety, ADHD/ASD, and feeling like I just never fit in. I have a very creative, musical side to me that I didn't discover until Iater in my twenties. Growing up and living in conservative areas is absolutely depressing but I feel so much fear moving away and looking for better locations to support my traits and characteristics because I struggle with financial planning and the logistics of jobs and "adulting"

It all comes down to the programming that favors the needs of some over others and in general society is designed with people who are avoidant if not outright adverse to feeling and introspection. I still wonder watching people who always need noise and busy work going through life without ever stopping for a moment then they wonder why they can't handle their own emotions very well.

I would not say that we are a very rational society since I do not feel people think actually in a sense that they do not analyse what is around them but go with the flow and do what they are told to and what society consideres acceptable and are very much lead by their emotions, they do not use logic at all I feel! Nevertheless I agree with you that people do not follow their intuition in general and we stay more stuck in beliefs of what we are expected to do i feel, not necessarily rational at all in the end. And the problem is also that most people follow emotions without looking for a deeper connection to their core values or a deeper meaning but more their emotions coming from inner impulsions. I do not believe that logic and intuition are opposed actually, it is just that intuition sees deeper and quicker than logic but in the end if we would deconstruct an intuitive feeling, there would be logic underneath, I mean it could be explained in a logical and sensible conscious way. Whereas emotions coming out of impulsions are the opposite of logic and consciousness, they reveal more the unconscious layers of our psyche which we have not made conscious or dealt with

For getting back in touch with the core of yourself and intuition, the book Women Who Run With The Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes continues to be the most profound experience/ journey I’ve come to know. I think INFJ and INFP men would also deeply resonate and experience mega-transformation from within as well

That feeling you described of being lost/overwhelmed/anxious about life decisions is so much yes for me (and my partner, he and I are both INFPs!). I've been making a conscious effort to step more into my intuition which has felt great, but still a lot of work to do.

I've watched a lot of your videos, and they resonate with me. Their spot on and are accurate with my nature/issues. It feels so daunting and overwhelming. Are we this complicated and problem prone. It feels like layers and layers of issues.

I took the Keirsey Temperament Sorter as a teenager and scored as INTJ, considered myself analytical until my early 20s. Even since my first big awakening shift through that time I've had experiences where being myself got me punished, and I've built up a level of "swords" skill that I'm really rather pleased with. But there's unfinished business to be sure.

I have always been a deep feeling and you are right i grew into using my logical side more than my feeling side, now days i incorporate more of my feelings into the , but i still believe there is a need for balance because neither side is right 100 % of the time. "their intuition is whats crying out to be heard" oh boy i felt that, and its a living hell when its not being heard and you have to repeat yourself to others because you feel they are not listening or are unable to grasp what you are saying largely due to their own fixated feelings/beliefs. Yes we do have to hide alot because everyone else has a group minded and fixed view point on how people should be, or are, and we are always having to try to avoid these misunderstandings, so in defense we only show are all to the people who take the time and energy to get to know us on a personal level.10:01 -10:25 What did i love before the trauma?, i loved that i had many friends that i could count on, but now i have no one.

Amazing, thank you very much for this video! Can you please make a video about how to heal INFP when from childhood supressed to use both - not only extroverted intuition parent but even introverted feeling function by his own parents and the society? Or let's say, if you grow up in extreme political situation and you are not allowed to be different from other people, and uniformity absolutely requiered. How can I deal with the longterm memory of introverted sensing child which remember everything even small details of these times and let me free of those memory suppresions?

I had heard that when you take the Myers-Briggs test you should answer it like how you would as a 10 year old. I think it’s just so you cut out what was learned behavior or influences that we’ve adopted that aren’t really ‘us’. It’s support be a more pure sense of self before others came in and we rearranged things within to ‘get along’. I’m thinking the age 8 referenced here is a round-about age…. I’ve heard anything from age 8 to 10.
