@@ddp5406 nah, Melo and Bron would be the perfect pick for Pistons. Piston had a great back court in Rip and Billups, great front court, Ben Wallace was a beast. If they picked Melo, they'd be even more versatile and spread out on the court. Rip said Ben didn't want melo in the team because of his ego, i doubt he'd keep that ego with all that great players in the locker room if they picked lebron, the ball distribution on the team would be very very good, imagine that Pistons moving the ball like the spurs and still being able to give 20 extra points for the team. And lebron would play defense way harder because of the culture of the team, man that'd be sick

The thing with Lebron is that his critics love to talk about his finals record, but how can you blame him for losing in 07 against the spurs with literally no help and then losing in 15 to the warriors without Kyrie and Kevin Love. I'm not even gonna talk about the matchups against the 17 and 18 warriors with Durant. His 2011 finals were a shitshow and in 2014 they just got outplayed, but it's so so silly to just say: Well, he's 3-6 in the Finals. Also people went absolutely mad when he left the Cavs in 2010, but if a generational player was stuck in such a terrible organization nowadays, people would be screaming for him to go to a better situation. I'm cool with Jordan being the GOAT, but the constant Lebron hate is insuffarable
@AJDC_5
@AJDC_5 4 жыл бұрын
Even though I still believe MJ is better, I think you are absolutely right. His 2011 is inexcusable and 2014 he just lost by a better team but the other loses? He had to transform into God Himself to overcome those..

@@AJDC_5 GOAT debates are strange because there is no stat to define the GOAT. Ultimately, the GOAT is who the most people believe to be the GOAT and I never saw Jordan play. I totally understand why he is considered the greatest and i'm not against it. It's just that Jordan seems to have that magical aura about him. The way his career panned out, it left people thinking that whatever happens, he will always come on top. Therefore, I don't think that Lebron will be the GOAT as long as people that saw Jordan play are alive, just because Jordan's career seems perfect, whilst Lebron's has a lof of flaws

Every superstar and his team is a unique situation. Its nearly impossible to fairly compare the quality of the team and even the organization (coaching, GM, ownership) around him. In basketball it is nearly impossible to lure superstar free agents to small market teams like Cleveland, Indiana, Minnesota or Sacramento etc. So these teams are already at a disadvantage. So once LeBron got drafted by Cleveland it was going to be difficult, if not impossible to lure another superstar to that market to play with him. And now with him being in LA, even a 35 year old LeBron was able to recruit AD from another small market to play in TensilTown. That is also why Kahwai and PG so quickly teamed up in LA. (though both are from the area)

in my opinion Jordan is the best player but lebron is undoubtedly the Greatest of all time. The expectation, the adversity, the pressure, the horrible teams, the amazing teams the wins and losses in totality are the greatest sports story ever told. If you watched a movie and never had any doubt that the protagonist could ever lose it would be just an ok to boring movie plot. I need to know that my hero can be humbled, take a punch and get back up, it's more impressive that way and is what legend is made of.

Im a Jordan fan and grew up watching him play. I think Jordan is the GOAT but you got to put respect on Lebron's name! During his senior year in highscool the network sold his games on ppv for $7.99? But if highscoolers or college playersm try to make money on their game or likeness or brand or even get a coat or basketball from a coach as a gift they are brought up on corruption charges?? Man that is hypocrisy right there. Most of these kids come from very poor backgrounds but the rich or the ones with money trying to make more money off of these young players is disgusting!

The one thing that people try to say that LeBron is the greatest of all time is that he can carry a team that has nothing to the NBA Finals. but there have been two instances where that's happened before with 2 different players and they also would go on to win a championship in that same year. Those players would be Hakeem Olajuwon in 1994 - 1995 and Dirk Nowitzki in 2010 - 2011.
@michaele.918
@michaele.918 4 жыл бұрын
Dirk in 2010-2011, had a great rotation of core role players who could compete. Olajuwon in 1994 had Clyde Drexler who was still a 22+ point scorer and great perimeter defender, Vernon Maxwell who was a good scorer and playmaker, Horry and Kenny Smith who were the two biggest perimeter threats in the league at the time and could both hit big shots . Don't get me wrong in terms of championship team talent these teams are on the weaker side but I'd say are much better than what Bron had to work with from 03-10.

@@johnwick8516 LeBron James had to go through a weak Eastern Conference and had to have two superstars on his team. The only competition he had was the Celtics and Pacers. Hakeem Olajuwon had a roster that never made an all-NBA and/or All-star team in any category. In the first round of that 1995 playoffs and as a 6th seed, the Rockets beat a 60-win Jazz team and his best perimeter defender quit on the team in the middle of the series. They came back from a 3-1 deficit against a 59-win Suns team in the second round. And he man handled David Robinson, the man that won the lead MVP, and a 60-win Spurs team that year. Ok off the top of my head. A team of 5 Lebrons loses to a team of 5 Giannis's and 5 Currys? maybe.

A team of 5 LeBrons isn't losing to a team of 5 Giannis, he's better than Giannis on the offensive side of the ball and is just as good of a defensive player not to mention that he's actually a great jump-shooter, a team of 5 Giannis's would get obliterated from the perimeter alone. A team of 5 Curry's is getting exploited on the defensive side of the ball on every possession, not to mention the lack of inside presence as well.

This is something that no one is mentioning, look at his body, his natural size, and how skinny he looks. Now present day how much more muscular and how full his frame has become over the years. Quite interesting that he packs on so much muscle. It's just suspicious that he was able to gain that level of mass for the NBA game after high school to the professionals sports. Things that make you say hum.

I don't believe Lebron is the GOAT. But that doesn't mean I think he's trash. He's easily the most well rounded BB player ever; someone with the ability to do anything and everything on the court; and when his jumpshot is falling, and he's in the mood to bull his way to the basket he's the most unstoppable offensive weapon on the court. I'll explain why people who proclaim him to be the GOAT get so badly attacked. Lebron, for all his talent and skill, always feels "underwhelming" compared to his box score. Even when he's scoring 41 against the warriors, Kyrie's 41 felt more impactful and memorable. Kyrie hit the game winning shot after going one on one with Thompson. The problem Lebron has is his game lacks beauty. He plays basketball like a 12yo bully beating on 8yos. As a bit of a student of psychology he has a bit of "first child syndrome" in him which really is an unattractive trait in a sports star. He's a bit condescending, a bit of a passive aggressive twat, and he leaves the impression of someone going through the motions and not trying hard when he's doomed to lose. meaning he only tries hard when he's up or the game is winnable. (first children are failure adverse, parent pleasers. meaning they avoid competing in events they aren't likely to win, don't try in events the outcome isn't certain. They are risk adverse to a fault. LBJ's personality feels like a weak form of first child syndrome. And for people used to watching MJ leave his soul on the court even in meaningless regular season games, for 40 minutes a game win or lose, the idea someone who gives up when the going gets tough is the "goat" is just objectionable on an instinctive level. I don't really believe all this. I think he has a strong case for goat. I just have seen him pass out of game winning shots too often to give him the title. Sometimes the "smart" basketball play looks like not trusting your jump shot. And frankly, that's always been the sketchiest part of his game (not that it's much of a weakness). Throw in the fact no one likes media hype (Jordan suffered this backlash up until his second 3 peet), fans of the other NBA teams are understandably irritated at the LBJ media frenzy, and his well publicized meltdowns, and his passive aggressive persona, and he's just an unlikeable person to a lot of people. Great BB player, yes; most complete player in NBA history (probably), but utterly unlikable.

Lebron was in the 03 draft not 04. I know its minor, but considering this was a vid where the maker did a lot of research and wants to be taking serious, it matters a lot. Idk how you make that mistake too. The 03 draft isn't just any draft its considered one of the best all time. To not know lebron was in the 03 draft questions your credibility as a basketball fan. Its like the 96 draft you just have to know or you're a novice.

same thing that happened to jordan. why dont people look at MJ on the wizards? in his last two seasons the wizards sucked. these idiots judging an all time great by his 16th season after going to the finals virtually every year. oh and btw he's right back in the finals as we speak. Lebron may not have won the championship every year but he is the actual championship. To win it all you must go through the king.

The topic of the GOAT is different in every era and everybody has their own preference on what they think GOAT status is and for the most there are some people who think Bill Russell is the GOAT cuz he has 11 rings. Some people think Kareem or Larry Bird or Magic Johnson is the GOAT. People think of how many rings or finals records is what you need to be considered GOAT..which is some cases is true in a way..but like what the video said.. then players such as Robert Horry should be considered a GOAT cuz he has 7 rings. But he’s not considered a GOAT or even considered to be ONE OF THE GREATEST. He was a role player who played in the Lakers and Spurs and got his rings. So honestly the whole RING count makes no sense to me.. I grew up in the era in the latter part of MJ’s career and my family has always been basketball fans. So I know how magical MJ is on that basketball court, but I also know that he also had his struggles and missed playoffs/finals before he became THE MICHAEL JORDAN. My childhood was watching Kobe/Shaq in LA, Duncan and the Spurs, Iverson, Vince Carter, and etc. My teenage-college years watching a new generation of basketball when LeBron, Wade, Bosh, Melo, Dwight, CP3, and etc who were close to my age take over. So in a way.. I’ve become to attached to players like Kobe and LeBron cuz those two players I’ve witnessed their careers..their failures and their successes. But I still respect and give past NBA greats their flowers too. Honestly, there’s NO list for me because all players constantly mentioned in that GOAT conversation are different from each other. MJ was magical and Kobe was the MAMBA..both in such a different class than LeBron. LeBron is still active and playing incredibly well for a 35 year old so-called WASHED KING. He is possibly on his way to his 4th ring and again help make another basketball franchise and team relevant again. A common thing that LeBron does whenever he goes on a team. He elevates that city, organization, and team in such a way no other player can..that’s different. He may NOT be magical like MJ.. or the MAMBA, but he still is building on his legacy. For me..OVERALL.. LEBRON IS THE MOST VALUABLE PLAYER IN THE NBA ever since he stepped on to that basketball court. I mean come on! Who would have thought Cleveland.. CLEVELAND would be the type of team who would even make playoffs let alone the Finals? It took a very young LeBron James to change that team and franchise around for crying out loud. They started getting the best record in the East and in the Finals in 2007..with that average/decent Cavs teams. He had to play INSANE and GOD-Like.. but he can’t do it alone.. it’s insane that people say it’s all about he HERO BALL..NO IT IS NOT! it helps to have a superstar, but Basketball is indeed a TEAM SPORT. If you want to win, it’s not always about you..you have to get your team involved and playing well. If you look at the NBA greats from past and present.. it’s not just ONE superstar.. it’s 3 and sometimes even 4 with good role players. Even the GOATs (whoever people consider their GOATs) HAD HELP.. they had a TEAM.. they had good role players. It’s ridiculous. I think it’s time people just needs to stop talking and hating and just watch basketball. Especially, when nobody is ever going to agree on this GOAT debate. LOL! Just appreciate the NBA greats of the past and witness and give flowers to the NBA greats that are still playing. I’m telling you.. once LeBron retires... man... i know for me.. that’s an era.. that’s a decade of basketball that we won’t be seeing anymore. So give the man his flowers now cuz we don’t know how much longer we’ll see him on that court.

Since you brought up the dream Hakeem. Hakeem when ask who is greater Lebron James, or Michael Jordan, Hakeem said it's not a fair comparison, because Michael Jordan was far superior to Lebron James in every way possible in the game of basketball. Stats alone won't make you the greatest of all time. But Michael Jordan also on the top of every statistical category and holds, or has been their in such a short time. It took Michael Jordan less time to achieve greatness. Michael Jordan made and set the bar so high that they have to make up new categories for today's players to accomplish something.
