I remember at the end of the episode how much it bothered Liv that the woman tried to throw her son under the bus just to save herself. Liv knew as a mother herself just how wrong that was. Barba asked her for a drink and an emotional Benson just said that she wanted to be with Noah

The way she just shifted gears was too obvious. She was too desperate and didn't have time to think about how it would look to others. She just latched onto a new narrative she thought she needed now that she thought she was losing with her current one. But the shift was too unnatural and her lies finally exposed her fully for what she was to her son.
