Fact; the reason the boy flipped out when Bernard touched him was because he and his friends were from a sub section of the Mormon church that unlike the mainstream church did not have any black members

@@thefanwithoutaface8105In my opinion, it's strongly implied that Michelle thought about it and decided to kill Wyatt (despite knowing what her children would do), realizing that their "church" was just a nonsense. Or maybe he abused her again and she decided to report him definitively. The "church" later disbanded due to this scandal. Or maybe Landon took another young wife who, however, was less influenceable and had him arrested. The only bad thing is that whatever happened, among them, it happened offscreen.

Regarding the 1st judge. This is one reason of many, why we British don't have a written constitution and amendments. For example, it imposes too many unbreakable restrictions on real justice. It being unconstitutional or a constitutional right is too often, IMO as an outsider, used by defendant's and their lawyers as a get out of jail free card. People will always abuse the best intentions of others, the lawmakers here, so you need flexibility to deal with assholes. Ours is certainly not a perfect system, but equity and common sense would play a much larger part in this fictional scenario in a UK court, or so I hope.

This type of lifestyle/religious ideology shows that our very country is illiterate. Because the politicians refuse to add limitations to the amendments that were granted by our founding fathers. If we could put into the first amendment you are not allowed under freedom of religion to create a cult and to marry children under the age of 18 to somebody that's older than 18. That's what our country needs to do but because they're illiterate they refused to do so. This stuff is disgusting but our country doesn't want to solve it they allow it to continue to fester.

These kids have never met any black people, except since living in New York. As fundamentalist Mormons who believe in polygamy (this is NOT the mainstream Mormon church- these are offshoot sects that left because the church gave up polygamy. There are lots of them- they're not part of the official Church of Jesus Christ, who are the Mormons we think of when we hear the name), they also follow the older teachings of the church, which was very racist. Their scripture said (it's no longer valid in the current Mormon church) that black sin is a curse and a mark of their pact with the devil before they were born.
