This is exactly why people saying Ruby was brainwashed etc makes me really angry. Not only were there signs of abuse years before Jodi even met Ruby but if you look at Ruby's demeanor, body language and reactions in her initial "interview" it tells a very different story. She is cold/unemotional, calm, never once asking about her children or whether they are ok. The most interesting part of it is the way she "answers" their questions. She looks each of the detectives in the eyes for maybe 5 seconds-ish, first one, then the other and refuses to answer anything. She just stares down her nose at them. After a period of time where she just repeats this behaviour - eye contact with one, then the next while not saying a word - she then requests a lawyer in a somewhat vague way (something to the effect of "I think I will wait to speak to my lawyer") but goes back into her silence/weird eye contact thing when they try to clarify whether or not that was a genuine request for representation. It's very clear she enjoys the power that her silence gives her; her arrogance and narcissistic behaviour, coupled with the zero interest in the welfare of her children, to me (and this is just my layman's opinion) shows that she was not the unwitting follower people are making her out to be. Jodi was equally as guilty, no doubt about that. The similarities between what happened to the Franke kids and the recollections of Jodi's nibling, Jesse (Jesse identifies as non-binary) are too much to be waived as coincidence. I believe that these two women were toxic before they met, maybe Ruby would have gone on to do the same/similar acts without Jodi (I think she would have) but undoubtedly their meeting was a catylist that led to the worsening abuse of those poor children.

What is amazing about this state's bizarre penal system is that Ruby and Jodi, for that matter, could be out after serving only 4 years??? Absolutely unacceptable. They should both be held for at least 20 years.

We had a case in Canada where 22 year old Tim McLean was stabbed, beheaded and cannibalized on a greyhound bus. The killer was found not criminally responsible because he was schizophrenic. He was held only 6 years in a psychiatric facility. He has changed his name and lives in Winnipeg. Never assume that these two will not be released early.

Both Jodi and Ruby shared the same extreme religious beliefs as Vallow and Daybell . They socialised with the some of the same people in the LDS church and bought into same beliefs outlined in the LDS book “ visions of glory “. That’s why it’s so similar .

OMG, this was exactly what I was afraid of: that Ruby was going to be able to manipulate the prosecution to believe that she is a victim too, and that Jody is the sole villain. That the prosecutor sits in this video and says just that, shows that they did a poor job looking into this. ”It took us two weeks to understand the relationship between these two”. It should not have taken them a full day to look into all evidence there are on KZbin to get their relationship. And to understand that the abuse of the children started long before Jodi stepped in (and most probably were involved in increasing the severity) and that the abuse was conducted when both parents were present. My impression of Ruby is that she is severly narcissistic, and she was probably ill treated as a child and has under long time surpressed her anger for that. So she is projecting her anger and the need for control on her children. Jodi came along and validated Ruby’s right to abuse the children and by that they both escalated the situation to terror beyond belief. I am really worried that ignorant people in law inforcement, like this prosecutor, will make it possible for Ruby to be out of prison far too soon, and reunited with her poor children.
@creativian687 ай бұрын
I listened to the recorded phone calls R made from prison. First she called her estranged husband and she was clearly emotional and not focused. The man said: you do realize this call is being recorded. In the subsequent recorded calls R was clearly calm and well articulated. I felt that she spoke like she was on a theatre stage and that she used the calls to paint a picture of herself as the victim.

Ruby was so disconnected from reality that she actually thought she was doing the right thing by treating her kids like she did. Ruby was a malignant narcissist, but it was really when she connected with Jodi that things went to this extreme level. When two psychos get together, they push each other to go further than they would on their own. It's nuts that they were making money from giving parenting advice with their podcast and classes.
