My great, great, great uncle, Henry Abshire, is the "Henry" deputy in this movie. No likeness rights paid. The County of Franklin, VA recently demolished his old house in Boones Mill, right next to Maggody Creek. This movie is mostly Hollywood, in the broad strokes. But this was real life. For a long time. And I'm proud of my family. I may be a rule follower and former public servant, but I'm not ashamed at all, and I love this movie. This movie reminds me of my family. My great grandfather was one of the first prisoners in the hernando/pasco county jail in 1927 for bootlegging.

I went to their Distlery last fall. Wonderful people. Toured their facility, bought a couple bottles.

My grandpa and his brother were moonshiner's from West Virginia. They would run their product to many of the major cities around the east. They became local celebrities after killing a couple of Capone's men that tried to rip them off during a rendezvous in Dayton, Ohio. We don't know all of the details but they returned home a few days later with the liquor, the money, a Tommy Gun, and an extra vehicle.

Capone didn't try to kill them later?

Best line in the movie: "If you pay, nobody will mess with you. Nobody messes with me now."
