In New Zealand we have chemicals that will kill everything in your lawn except for your lawn grass. The lawn either has to be 100% rye grass or fescue. Very handy!

SUBSCRIBED! loving these videos.... as a 36 year old male, is it sad that I get exited waiting for my lawn to grow so I can mow it again? I feel that since I treated it with a 4 in 1 fertiliser about 6 weeks ago.... it now looks better and better with each cut. I keep it at about 50mm and the stripes now look awesome. Thank you for your videos 👍

Hi Robbie. Just thought I'd throw my two cents in as a microbiologist. For the tea, along with oxygen you want to maintain a relatively high temp to ensure the bacterial and fungal communities grow at a fast rate. I've seen brews done in greenhouses to try raise the water temp to 30 degrees C. There are heated tanks and plates for a constant temp but that means £££. I have mushrooms growing in my garden. Good to hear they're a sign of health!

Stumbled on this channel last week and have been watching loads of your content, it is incredibly informative and really well put together videos, thanks for taking the time to make and upload these videos. very helpful indeed! I laid a new small (8m x 6m) turf lawn around August last year and was wondering if I should hold off verticutting till next year? The lawn is healthy and is regularly cut by me (down to 35mm high) and has had a treatment of spring/summer fertiliser back in May. How would you verticut with a spring rake? Just lightly rake the lawn methodically in one direction or once North to South and then across East to West type of idea? Many thanks, Dave
@Premier_lawns_official3 жыл бұрын
Dave that's pretty much it. Though not across the lines, 1 direction is enough 👍

What sort of length would you recommend keeping a lawn in the current NI weather? Mow as normal or better leaving it?

Right now, cut on a high setting and if you are cutting with a rotary mower cut with the box off

Hi Robbie. Does that mean you should only put iron on the lawn on its own? I've been mixing it with a seaweed and humic in my backpack sprayer. Is that wrong?
@Premier_lawns_official3 жыл бұрын
No that's fine to use like that, compost tea is all about the bacteria, once you mix it with the iron it kills it. Although too much iron is bad for your lawn

Great video. Quick question how often can you do verticutting? Too dry in NI for this now?
@CMDRSloma3 жыл бұрын
@@Premier_lawns_official That's what I thought, seems this summer is getting close to what we had in 2018. My lawn is drying, but I am going to keep it that way. Fescue is going to withstand the drier conditions, but I am hoping it will decimate the poa.

So did you verticut but just having your scarifyer set on high level or do you have a verticut blade/cassette in it? My scarifyer is just an electric lawn rake so I’m just checking as I don’t think mine will do this.
