Excellent video on the fix on that mower. Should be a good mower for the next person. Glad you had your son doing a little helping. Should be good for him as well. Thanks for the video.

Good video and I appreciate your content. This comment is for people considering doing this particular mower and situation to buy/repair/sell. $25 initial cost, $25 to $35 for cable, oil, air filter. Now your cost is $60 (not including labor). Sell it for $60 to $75 and break even. Food for thought. Need to try to double your money at least on used equipment.

great video, watching you cut the grass reminded me of being 5 years old, my father would tell my oldest brother " I'm the youngest of 5 boys " to cut the grass, he would tell the next youngest, and so it went till it got to me, having no younger brother to tell I cut the grass, checking the oil and filling the gas, starting the mower and cutting the lawn, I think my father knew because I got the same allowence as the next oldest, at that age it wasn't much maybe 50 or 75 cents

Looks like a nice fescue lawn that you cut high. Cutting grass short kills it.

17 years later my 98 dollar Wal Mart push mower is still getting it done, its all about maintenance. Have replaced all 4 wheels, 2 oil changes a year, new plug once a year, 2 filters a year, sharpen blade once a year, keep the under the deck clear, pull head off every 2 or 3 years and power wire brush valves and chamber, I use the same gasket. I like the mower because its small and light to push around, Briggs motor, and I want to see just how far you can get one of these cheap mowers to last. Its so cheap it dosent even have a run speed control, it runs flat out all the time.
@jcondon14 жыл бұрын
You are more serious about maintenance then I. I do really like how light this mower is.

I manly use it around the edge of the lake, I use a Gravely Z Turn for the yard. I pretty much push it into the water a little. I cant use the heavy Gravely around the lake, it gets stuck. Yep I try to make what money I have go as far as I can. Im 68 years old and have owned a total of 4 Pickups, The Tacoma I own now Ive had for 23 years, and it runs as good as the day I bought it used, with 30,000 miles on it, now almost 300,000. I learn alot from your videos, thanks alot, your pretty talented. My neighbor bought and ran the gravely for Im guessing 10 years, he bought a new Kubota, and stuck the gravely in the weeds, 2 years later I asked what are you doing with it. He said, hoping I would take it. 200 dollars worth of Paint, Belt, tires, tuneup, blades, seat. Now its my pride and joy.I enjoy bringing life back into wounded equipment, cant save them all, but we try.

Hey James, on another matter, have you come across fuel injected inverter generators? It's a suitcase style, and has an injector and carburetor. I don't think it is true efi as there is a fuel line from the bottom of carby to the injector, no high pressure fuel rail. Maybe the injection is just for starting?? Jyst wondering if you had experienced them before. It will be interesting to see if carby is just being used for its throttle valve positioning and all fuel goes through the injector, or as i am thinking, the injection is only for starting, but i can't think how you can have both carby and injection at the same time??

I have not come across any efi generators yet. Would like to see myself what makes them tick.

I really need your help. My mower won't run and don't have money for a new one. I've checked spark and my air filter and checked oil and checked tension on cables all the basics and will start no matter how much I try pulling...However if I put a little starter fluid or gasoline directly in the carb it'll start and run till it burns up that gas so about 30 seconds and coincidencely the exact same thing is happening to my work van right now but I think it's probably my fuel pump in my van but not positive yet. I checked all the fuel lines none of them are broke or cracked or disconnected so I was thinking about buying a carb kit for it? If the owner of this channel would respond to me that would be awesome or if anybody else in the comments section might know I would be extremely grateful for anybody's suggestions or tips thank you.

That is why you should not fold the handle. You can ruin the cables

True and if you do, pay attention to what the cables are doing.
