Would you ever consider doing a couple videos on welding? Mig and tig. Everything from machine selection, to setup, accessories, your welding table, and the process to achieve the best welds. The videos you produce are inspiring.

A week’s worth of time! If I’m doing my own, I’d be happy. If I had to pay shop rate, maybe not so much. Beautiful work, though! BTW LT, I’ve had to do a lot of grinding on my own project, C-notches, various other mods. My wife insists, rightly, that I wear an industrial dust mask doing this grinder stuff. I also do woodwork, have an acquaintance who has done it his whole life-he’s now living with major lung issues. PPE is there to keep you healthy!

See, this was informative. I've got a '78 F-100 stepside that I'm going to end up doing an exhaust on. I was thinking either side exit under the steps with a square/rectangular end-piece, or keeping it hidden/tucked up under the rear step bumper with a downward ejection. Now I just need to decided on which muffler....

That would sound awesome with 2 more cylinders and revs higher than 4K on the ripems. Great job on the exhaust. I don’t think people really understand the time involved in customs. I’ve built a few boat and make all my own hardware. You can spend a day on 1 bracket between the lathe and the mill. Maybe I’ll hit the lotto and be able to afford a CNC machine one day. Can’t wait to see what’s next.

Dude, you got me over here doing diff eq, calc, and trig trying to figure out a way to delete my exhaust there on my XJ. I believe the reason you want to avoid terminating the exhaust under the bed is because it creates a pocket of heat at low speed that affects the gas tank and whatnot. Sound too I guess but either way everyone else is gonna hear that thing from six blocks away.

Hey LT, I notice you don't back purge when welding stainless. Are you using a special filler rod or something so it isn't necessary to purge?
@LawrenceTolman2 жыл бұрын
no, I'm using just standard 308 filler and for ideal results I should back purge, but for most exhaust systems, I skip the step. However, if I am building anything like a turbo manifold or a crossover pipe that goes before a turbo, I always back purge
@44Eflores3 жыл бұрын
Please invest in a back purge such as *TICON* IT'LL SAVE YOU FROM FUTURE REPAIRS

What about the O2 sensors and the catalytic converter?? It's going to run like an ass!!
@sogood4u4893 жыл бұрын
It has the upstream in the header that's all you need the sensor after the converter is just there to make sure the converter is doing its job has no effect on how the engine runs, just gives you an annoying check engine light.
@LawrenceTolman3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it does have an o2 sensor in it, right after the header, in the factory location.
@casperscustoms15783 жыл бұрын
@@sogood4u489 This era of 4.0L only has 1 O2 sensor in the header. There was no second Post-Cat sensor.
