What he did was monstrous but a monster would not request he be put in jail for the rest of his life to protect others from him. A monster wouldn’t give a shit while he obviously felt remorse.

Yeah I've often felt that about for those types of people. I mean to some extent we are all attracted to underage people. Afterall we all went through puberty while we ourselves were underage. I remember being in high school and thinking that college girls looked too old. Crazy I know. Anyway for a lot of people they must realize in their young adulthood that something is wrong, but of course there is no way they can possibly come out to anyone about it. Its probably like what coming out as gay used to be like back during sodomy laws only 100X worse.

Attraction to children as an adult is a mental illness, in a sense, something wrong with the person’s actual brain, so I can see a minor attracted person plead a harsher sentence because they know they can’t stop themselves. Doesn’t excuse them, but in a twisted way it almost (keywords being almost) makes me pity them. I’ve heard there are therapies in place to help these people get over their attraction, but I’m not sure how effective they really are. Aside from the obvious fact that you’ve got to genuinely want to improve, a paraphilia isn’t just a kink or fetish, something that’s basically just a personal preference, so it’s not as easy to convince someone to just… not be into that anymore. Plus, not that many minor attracted people get this therapy when they haven’t committed any crime yet, because it would imply someone being like “hey so I know the whole world thinks I’m a normal person but I actually have explicit thoughts towards minors and don’t want that, how do I change that?”. That could also be intrusive thoughts from OCD. So essentially it’s pretty hard to save these people. The best thing really seems to contain them.
@hexzyle
@hexzyle 9 ай бұрын
The stigma around paraphilias (what are basically thoughts and cognitive conditions) definitely need to be seperated from the judgement of actual immoral actions. But the reality is that a lot of people will judge you for simply having "abnormal" preferences, right wing people will shame others in order to enforce conformity. People who are into BDSM are conflated with actual rapists, people who age regress or roleplay as children are conflated with actual child molesters, and gay and trans people are treated as though non-reproductive sex is a moral and health hazard to society. Because of this watering down of actual crimes to mere thoughts or imaginary scenarios, people who need support don't seek it, and people doing the actual crimes are defended by those who believe them to be "not the kind of person who could do bad things" because criminality is so heavily associated with mental illness.

I know from a Lawyer's You Tube Channel that the Purpose of defending a client is not just to prevent punishment but to also show how he felt at that moment and what their motivations were, in order to make them more understandable and turning a Monster into a Human... However sometimes a Human cannot be shown as anything else but a Monster.

Therapy is almost entirely ineffective for people who assault children - there is very close to a 100% recidivism (rate of re-offending) among such people. Therapy has been shown to help those who have the attraction but haven't acted on it, however.

My father has been an attorney for over 40 years. I have worked as a paralegal for him on and off throughout the years. We have seen a little bit of everything. From the woman who said that she had the patience of Methuselah to the man who waited for my father in the parking lot with a gun. He has had to represent some people who have done the absolute worst acts that you could possibly imagine. The scary thing is that you can sit and have small talk with some of these people and come away from it with a really positive view of them. You are then completely shocked when you hear about the heinous crimes that they committed. Everyone in this country has the right to an attorney, so I have to treat everyone the same regardless of their criminal history. But I would be lying if I didn't admit that it gets extremely difficult to remain professional with some of these people. I'm not going to list the crimes due to KZbin's guidelines, but if you can imagine the most heinous, sick, and downright monstrous crimes then we have seen them.

Truth. It's amazing how people claim like "drag queens are invading our schools to harm our children!" but then continue to ignore the sheer amount of emotional, physical, and s*xual abuse that happens from the supposed "normal" teachers. In fact, many of the people who say drag queens are m0lesters are the same people who say teenager girls are "most fertile" and should get married to older men. It always just seems like they're trying to get eyes off them with lies so they can continue to *ACTUALLY* be predators. Hell, I always see my mom complain about gender neutral bathrooms being put in schools and LGBTQ+ books, but she never seems to talk about all the "normal" teachers and priests who *ACTUALLY* have been *PROVEN* to abuse hundreds of children.

A lot of the time, when there is overwhelming evidence and/or a serious crime, the defence lawyer's job is to get a reduced sentence. It isn't easy, and they get a lot of hate for it, but they still have to do their best for the client. Takes a much stronger person that I am to be a public defender.

The thing about the actual mental condition of pedophilia is they have issues finding therapists cause no one wants to work with them even if they have never touched a child and actually avoid them like the plague. My issue with the priest, and most who follow Abrahamic religions in general, over stuff like this is they tend not to go to actual therapy and instead tend to go to priests and they do not provide proper treatment to anyone.
@GamerMage2k-kl4iq
@GamerMage2k-kl4iq 11 ай бұрын
NGL, that sucks when one realizes that. It sucks that the people who could help others with Pedophilic thoughts and stuff don’t tend to help them. And I realized that this is probably because the therapist’s don’t want other people including their own boss to find out and get into trouble themselves JUST BECAUSE they “worked with a pedophile” even if the person they worked with the mental condition hasn’t done anything…

Story 3 that is well it's probably a case of insanity. Because frankly someone who just decides to when we kill somebody after having such a good time is insane. And not the insanity that you can be released from a mental ward know this guy is a danger to everyone around him for life unfortunately. However I am not entirely sure if I feel bad for him. Because on one hand it seems like the crime was done non-malicious. But on the other he straight up murdered somebody.
