My 15 yr old daughter went into cardiac arrest at her birthday party. We were at a pool and we called an ambulance as the lifeguards were performing CPR on her in front of her friends and my family. I watched in horror because we had no idea what happened. They transported her to the hospital and she died after they tried to resuscitate her. Blue Cross later refused to pay the ambulance bill because they said it wasn’t a medical necessity. I tried to fight it and even my husband’s employer tried to fight them since the pool was on their property. (It was a University). They NEVER backed down. The University paid it on our behalf. THIS is why there is so much anger. I don’t condone violence but we need change and we need it now in so many areas of our medical system.

Most of the effort went into identifying and capturing him which isn’t usually a problem with school shooters (who are often shot to death on site). To help address the school shooter problem, I thought there was substantial government and community effort placed into school shooters drills, on site security guards and in being able to identify “high risk” students? Senior executives and board members of most organisations don’t have any personal security. If they need to start having security the costs of goods and services will increase (to cover the cost of it) plus there will be a lot less people prepared to take senior roles (reducing the “talent pool” - potentially resulting in only power mangers being prepared to take the senior roles).

Eliminating jurors who think health insurance sucks is like eliminating jurors who believe the earth is round. The facts are what they are. If insurance companies don't want people to think they suck, they should suck less. We all deserve a jury of our peers. My peers, your peers, and Luigi's peers all hold negative views of insurance companies. None of us should be additionally punished for believing something that's just true. I take issue with saying that Brian Thompson was just doing his job. He was rich before being a CEO. He could've retired and not done any job. He chose this job. He chose to approve an AI that auto-denies cancer patients. His choices impacted millions of people. He chose this legacy, and that's on him.

His company has killed and tortured far more people than Charles Manson. Do you feel bad that Jeffery Dahmer was put to death? What about the system? We’re supposed to bring about change by voting and engaging with politicians, but what happens when that system does nothing while conditions get worse? People are rightfully furious and our politicians have made peaceful change seem farther and farther out of reach. When change within the system becomes impossible, people turn to violence. I have a question about why this crime is being charged Federally and the Idaho 4 isn’t. All the reasons they claim make this a federal case apply to Brian Kohlberger as well so why isn’t he facing Federal charges as well too, times 4. The claim that they aren’t treating Luigi any different than they would if he wasn’t accused of offing a CEO of Healthcare is easily dismissed in this example alone.

Good point. He did cross state lines, and I assume used the internet to some degree. He didn't have a ghost gun, though, which is another federal crime. Also, if convicted, he'll likely get the death penalty, so there's nothing to gain. With Luigi, if he's only convicted of 2nd degree, he could be paroled. Therefore, there's room in terms of potential penalties on the federal side.

If we trained them to accept everything the insurance companies wouldn’t exist because fraud would eat them alive. Most companies actually have some of these same policies. Like stores that sell goods have requirements for when, how, and why customers can get a refund or an exchange. When I was 19, I was selected for a jury for a 19 black male who was accused by the Philadelphia police of selling drugs. They had pictures they had the lookout they had staked out the property. They had substantial evidence, but my father was a drug dealer, and everyone else lived in the city and had been brutalized by the police at one point in their life or another. The funny thing is I did not realize we notified we literally said fuck the police. 😂😂 The major conversation was just how bad the Philadelphia police has acted towards it citizens that they couldn't believe anything that they said so we let him go, but I really never put two and two together that that was jury nullification😬

In a way wouldn’t jury nullification be an ultimate check and balance for the judicial system? Meaning the circumstances are such that every juror has been affected in some way by the plaintiffs party. And because of this fact it (for a lack of better terms) justifies the defendant’s actions. I feel like if jury nullification does occur, it speaks to the lack of trust the general public has on our current governmental and economic system. I’m open to hearing some opinions on this.

Murder is wrong. I’m not debating that. But if you have not personally experienced the kind of suffering (or even death) that the American public is talking about then I’m not surprised that you don’t understand how someone could get to this point.

Which isnt a knock against those people... its just that they dont have the perspective of facing crippling medical debt, rationing meds, having to decide "is it reeeaaallllllyyyyy worth going to the dr???" And thats without getting into things like the extortionate costs of medical care anyway in this country. When you dont have to worry as much, its easy to forget not just that others do, but just *how many* people do..

Insurance companies that ate publicly held answer to their stockholders. Stockholders want profits. This is the problem with for profit Healthcare. Our health care system has been broken for decades. I used to have problems with pre-existing condition riders when I first entered the workforce in the 80s. I no longer have that problem and I'm actually now getting 100% of my surgery paid for by my health insurance. The problem is, every time a national health care plan is brought up, people just hear increased taxes and stop listening. It's also going to take decades to make a major change.

These people who work in the ambulance should be better trained and give priority to the patient, we can talk about payment after the patient improves his health the way my son was treated was very inhumane, it left me very devastated.

I believe the money issue he had was they said “money of a different currency” and he lashed out was because they were not being candid with the court and said different currency to make the judge believe he was a flight risk but it was the Monopoly money they found

the Monopoly money was found in the grey pack in Central Park, days later. When luigi was found at McDonald’s in Altoona, then taken in, cops said that 8000, and 2000 in foreign currency was found in the backpack, which Luigi said were not his. Are you sure they didn’t say foreign currency, I’ll have to check. I don’t think the color of his backpack was mentioned, the shooter had the grey one, (later found in Central Park), Luigi had the black one… I think backpacks and people were switched so shooter could get away, leaving Luigi to take the blame, question is how involved was he if he wasn’t the shooter?

@@tongyeong interesting perspective, I thought they found the backpack with the Monopoly money within a short period of time after the shooting and said in the arraignment hearing that he had been in possession of foreign currency or something which caused him to lash out because as cops do they manipulate the truth to suit themselves. I don’t think it’s out of the realms of possibility that he had help and that help met him at the bus terminal as they don’t know where he went after that. Interesting hypothesis about not being him and switching out. So interesting. I respect your perspective and ability to look at things objectively.

Anyone who is against Luigi, i would love to hear your suggestion on what to do. Lobbyists won't allow the laws to change. Whistleblowers are turning up dead. As a law abiding citizen, what's my next move? I'm 100% backing Luigi until someone can find a better solution.

Why such slow perp walks ? The one after the helicopter, armed police, numerous police, the crooked mayor, and the perp walk at the court, all excruciatingly long..The only time they rushed him is when bringing him to the jail and him yelling out something to the media.

I think it is a bad look for the government to treat this as more than a disgruntled person attacking a person they are disgruntled with. If purposefully killing someone you have a disagreement with doesn’t get you to first degree there then this shouldn’t either. But the fact that they are treating him like they would a state actor is very telling about the closeness of politics and the health industry.

The support for Luigis alleged actions should make the government look into the real problem. And that is that insurance companies keep people from continuing to live through denials, defenses, and depsitions. And whether anyone likes it, agrees with it, etc., or not, depriving someone of life saving measures is equal to murder in the majority of Americans minds. And its because noone listens to our complaints, our frustrations of our demonstrations, and the legislature continues to allow these companies to basically commit corporate murder, and they continue to look the other way. Plain and simple. They shouldnt be making an example of LM, they should be making an example of these cold, greedy and disgusting insurance companies. I mean its simple, so and so's life ended because of these insurance companies tactics, while people like Brian whatever his name is get multi- million dollar salaries and raises for basically killing Americans. Period end of story! Personally i dont understand why everyones so shocked that Americans have had enough a very long time ago! Luigi speaks for the majority of us like it or not, things in this country are NOT ok! Wake up people! Thanks Peter and Papa Tragos for covering this case. ❤

The only legal question that realy counts is: was this justified by the golden rule or not. And the golden rule can justify the killing of a bully if that bully is a) lethaly dangerous to many people and b) there is no likely way to stop him IN TIME (before more other people die) differently. Due to corruption and due to the length this bully was allowed to kill and torture undistrurbed it is is obvious that there was no other choice. By asking "do you think murder is ok" the media is already playing a language trick on you. "Murder" is any killing that can not be justified by the golden rule. The question should have been "is killing always wrong"?

I just spent 2 weeks fighting an insurance company while my husband fought for his life, it was obscene how they treated us.....if I was on Luigi's jury, I am seriously leaning towards giving him the freedom of the City, I mean Diddy got it😂

I was denied cover because they said I didn't disclose pre existing conditions so I asked for a copy of the call where I took out the insurance. Guess what was on it. 30 minutes and 42 seconds of me describing in great detail my husbands medical condition and the medication he took. NEVER EVER TRUST THEM

The way yourself, husband and family were treated is appalling, however, is vigilantism and murder morally justified for the way insurance companies act? Shouldn't we be upset and demand action from the state rep's and federal rep's for not holding the insurance companies accountable for their conduct? Being cool with murder is a slippery slope, and allowing people like Luigi to be free because you happen to agree with his violent ideology is obscene.

Luigi Mangione is not the same person who did the shooting. The pics don't resemble him and the timeline is off. There is so many inconsistencies with the evidence.. It's crazy! Are people blind?
