I don't understand what people in the live chat are talking about when they say people are making personal attacks. I see some differing opinions but I don't see a lot of personal attacks. Almost none in fact. I don't know a whole lot about insurance but I imagine it's like other businesses which have to compete in a very difficult and competitive marketplace which means they have to bring in more money than they spend. It's not complicated. With all due respect Peter (and I do have a huge amount of respect for you and I also think you're a very intelligent, genuine, and thoughtful person) but you've said that it frustrates you that these insurance companies sometimes or often seem to put profits over people. If a company doesn't make profits their number one objective, it's highly unlikely they will succeed and what good can a business do if they're bankrupt and have to lay off all of their employees and stop offering their services? I feel like we need a refresher course on how free market competition works. If health insurance company A is ripping off it's customers by not covering healthcare expenses that they had agreed to cover in the policy, there' are remedies for that such as filing lawsuits against the health insurance company, making sure you choose a healthcare provider who has a reputation for covering crucial medical expenses, choosing a policy carefully so you understand in explicit detail what will be covered and what won't be covered by that policy. If all of the insurance companies are scamming their customers, why not start an insurance company that takes care of it's customers and gains a reputation for doing so which will lead to everyone switching to your healthcare company and you'll be richer than Elon Musk in no time. There must be a reason no one has done that and the reason is that the only way to make a profit and not go bankrupt in a matter of a year or two is to balance cost of insurance, coverage of policies, premiums, and payouts to customers. There's no magic money tree that's just going to come in and pay for everyone's healthcare expenses. Either people will have to pay for their own insurance and they'll get whatever coverage they can afford or else working people like me will have to pay for it out of our paychecks that we work our ass's off (I'm a finish carpenter/contractor and only make about $30-$40 an hour on average and I use my own tools and vehicle and have been doing construction for almost two decades now). That's not fair to me and to all of us who work for a living to have to pay for everyone else's health problems. If the health insurance companies are doing something illegal they need to be held accountable by the courts. If they're not doing anything illegal but they're behaving unethically, than state and federal legislators need to change the laws to force them to behave ethically. But businesses will always do what works for them which is a good thing. It drives innovation, efficiency, creativity, transformation, and quality because when people have a free choice to choose where they're going to spend their money, they are going to look for whoever does those things the best. If there's a better system than that, please tell me what it is and where it's being done successfully. And would that system be equally successful here in the U.S. with our demographics and the current health status of our citizens? People choosing to live incredibly unhealthy lifestyles is a major factor that's overburdening our healthcare system. Poor nutrition, obesity, overeating, addiction, sedentary living, Vitamin D deficiency (not enough sunshine), mental disorders, hereditary diseases, stress, nihilism, hopelessness, loss of faith/lack of spirituality, poor diet, lack of exercise, etc. are all contributing to a society that is riddled with illness, death, and disease. And after years of making poor lifestyle choices that have destroyed our health, we require hundreds of thousands of dollars in treatment to keep us alive and functioning (at some level). So who's going to pay for that? Where's the money going to come from to pay for unhealthy people to get all of the myriad procedures and surgeries and medications and rehabilitation at these state of the art facilities with the best doctors and specialists? These things all cost a ton of money and someone has to foot the bill. Either the person who needs the medical treatment has to pay for it, their family has to pay for it, or I have to pay for it (ie. taxpayers). And I don't want to pay for your medical bills. No offense. If I could afford to I would but I cannot afford to. There's no magic money fairy. There's only what we earn with our own hard work; the fruit of our labor. It's not complicated but some people really want to take from others because they have a sense of entitlement. Parasites. Freeloaders. Blood sucking vampires. AKA: Democrats, Socialists, Fascists, and Communists. But I don't owe you anything and neither does anyone else. What people give out of the kindness of their hearts is nothing short of miraculous and a blessing that is neither deserved nor obliged. That's the attitude that made America the greatest country on earth and until we get back to that attitude, there will be decay, suffering, and destruction. God bless you.

I'm no legal eagle and would never claim to be, but IMO, they charged him with terrorism due to all the public support. There's a clause that says words to the effect of "coercion of public". I think they've over charged to be honest. They obviously want to make an example of him. The amount of police, officials, and security etc was completely needless IMO. I watched him leave Pen in car, watched him board the plane, switch to helicopter and the land. The amount of people was insane. I totally appreciate they may have thought someone might attempt to aid an escape, but he was shackled, arm in arm with officers, surrounded with many many more, plus the officials in front and behind. It was like a movie. I know OJ's escape was on live TV etc, but geez. I will probably get hate for my comment, as I can see from both sides. I'm in NO way condoning murder, lets make that clear. But fact is 1000s upon 1000s of US people have died, been denied, been disposed of, and literally shunned when they needed the help, they paid for. Obviously Luigi went about this in the wrong way. But, honestly I can understand why a lot of Americans are saying certain things. I'm lucky I'm from UK, and in 2005 I had a serious car accident, a drunk driver hit the car, He escaped no injuries, no insurance, no license, and it wasn't even his car. I was in hospital for 6 mths, I'm all pinned & plated from shoulder to toes on right hand side, I even broke a bone in my neck and my ribs, add to that glass cuts & gashes. It took 2yrs of rehabilitation & physiotherapy to learn to walk again, and have an "OK" quality of life. I often wonder what would have happened had i lived in another country. What IF my insurance company decided 6mths was too long to reside in hospital, and after care for 2years was too expensive, even though I'd of paid for my healthcare insurance. These companies literally have the power to aid or dispose of life expectancy, chemo, surgery, meds, quality of life and more. As I said, LM didn't go about it correctly, with his money, intellect, education, and more, he could potentially have made/tried to make a difference. *** Sorry for essay, I know people hate long comments, but if anyone did read all of it, thank you, I appreciate it

The part of the 3D printed gun is the frame only. I have a 3D printer and when I zoomed in on the gun I could see the lines from the layers of plastic put down by the printer as it print the frame. You can see it if your know what you're looking at. It's also very black suggesting to me that he used a carbon fiber impegnated filament for added strength. I can imagine it would be difficult to get prints off the gun. A 3D printed frame is not pefectly smooth because it's .2mm layers upon layers of plastic. Lifting finger prints off that part is going to have lines running through the finger prints.

The problem I see for double jeopoardy: the tenth amendment assigns subject matter jurisdiction to prosecute upon either the state or the federal government, but never both by reason of its exclusive language. (e.g. it prohibits the federal government from involving itself in state matters and vice versa). Therefore, any argument of concurrent jurisdiction is plainly incorrect in light of the tenth amendment text, unless the conduct charged can be tried upon completely independent theories of a crime which must necessarily factually compete with each other - such that the facts will bar the one or the other due to res judicata. This in turn means that where the federal court finds a reasonable allegation of interstate commerce, the state will then be deprived of jurisdiction, because the state court cannot then find lack of interstate commerce, and state law cannot be interpreted as to touch the federal governments enumerated powers.

Mangione’s case is highly charged and controversial. What he did was terrifying, but does it rise to terrorism? I thought possibly by having all those fake ID’s and crossing state lines with the federally banned suppressor, he tied himself into the federal government and that is why he has been charged with terroristic crimes. I don’t know. Something needs to be changed with the way these laws are written, imo. I don’t think they can do that and “grandfather” Mangione in though. For CLR: What a shock! His son seemed like a very nice young man. I’m sure his dad and family are devastated! So sorry for their loss. 💔
@bexuk1825Сағат бұрын
I think they overcharged him, and added terrorism due to public support. They will make an example of it. Which tbh, doesn't sit right with me. IF he did do it, and he's found guilty, he should still have a fair, transparent, open, just, non-biased and lawful trial/hearings and treatment. I don't agree with making examples out of people, especially when certain well known criminals have done way worse (I'm not condoning murder or saying murder is right). It also worries me about potential jurors, a lot of people are supporting Luigi, and New York court won't want those people on jury, so will courts coincidently "find" jurors who'd definitely find him guilty, people who may have deemed him guilty even before seeing and hearing evidence?? Because Jurors are supposed to be impartial, not biased, and fair.

Legal Vices was a Maritime Law Lawyer operating out of Korea, but from the US originally. His coverage of all things Nautical was exceptional, especially the recent collapsing of the bridge via boat in Maryland and the Oceangate hearings. He's got the famous boat/submarine cases of history covered, as well as many we never head of. He was a very fun, universally caring individual, with low tolerance for stupidity, yet respected enough to be called the LawRax for his regular case coverage. He had two giant bulldogs that were a watching pleasure. He laughed, lived, had great party streams on Fridays with a great variety of legal guests. Please check him out and subscribe as we are trying to get his 100,000 you tube button to his son and know how youtube cuts subscriptions.
