I think that the first thing that needs to happen in order to ensure that Karen Read will receive a fair and impartial trial is to remove the judge and get an unbiased judge to preside. As long as Judge Beverly Cannone is the presiding judge I personally do not think that Karen Read will receive a fair & impartial trial because I think its beyond obvious that Judge Cannone is beyond biased! Cannone needs to be banned from the case and Lally just needs to be completely banned from everything pertaining to practicing law. He’s the one responsible for this lost video footage. He should’ve personally made sure this video was preserved the very day he took this case on! He’s trash, Cannone is definitely trash and most, if not all, LEOs/detectives/special investigators in Canton that had anything to do with this case are the biggest, nastiest pieces of trash of all of them. There are way too many issues with chain of custody and evidence preservation/corruption for this case to have even made it this far. It’s ridiculously sad and infuriating. The thing that gets me is - everytime the Defence brings up a deficiency in the Commonwealth's case (and there have been quite a few incredible motions filed about such ftom the Defence), Judge Cannone finds away to skate around it and deny the motion... No literally NO Metadata has EVER been given to the defense. Even after over a year of ignoring requests for crime scene photos meta data the two orders to produce such evidence to the defense, they finally told the defense "the phone no longer exists" after the third judicial motion to compel from the judge almost a year and a half later. They have played these games since day one and it's incredibly disheartening and outrageous.

Show me examples of when the cops say "we're recording" but then the footage is not available when it comes to court. Anytime I see footage from a "bystander" where the cop is wearing a body cam and they say "we're all recording" the cops body cam footage comes out at trial. The only time I see cops not produce footage at court are when the cops are violating the law and they never bring attention to the fact they are wearing cameras but they aren't turned on. (Because yes when body cams are on there is a red light on)

This isn't the only discovery violation. The original inverted video showing up in the middle of the trial should have been a discovery violation. Canton PD _is_ under FBI investigation. They have been for a while now, and one of Read's experts was an FBI expert, but they couldn't release that specific info, because it could poison the jury pool. I believe they just said something along the lines of, "this is an independent expert not paid for by the defense." Been a while since I've watched the trial, so I don't recall the exact wording.

In a sane world it would be a discovery violation. But sanity appears to have been banished from Canton (to say nothing about Norfolk where the trisl took place). Also, the Court did issue a preservation order (which meant that Higgens *_and_* Brian Albert) which they flouted by virtue of destroying their phones a day or so before a Court ordered them to hand over their phones. edit for spelling

That last part is the lynch pin. None of this would be happening if the D.A.'s office weren't pursuing it. It's their job to evaluate a case on its merits and determine whether or not there's enough evidence to bring the case. The fact that they chose to retry Read, instead of reopen the investigation, tells us everything we need to know.

As long as judge Canone remains the gatekeeper in this trial there will never be real justice. The fact that it is up to her to recuse herself or not is like asking an accountant to audit himself. I don’t believe she is incompetent but rather unwilling to be fair. We can all see how tired she gets when things drag on. However she refused to hand over this trial when she could have. I think a lot of us would agree that there have been too coincidences, mistakes and incidents that seem too convenient. There has been misconduct, gross negligence and deception by the investigators in how everything was handled. Even bullying and underhanded tactics. Quite enough to throw out this case in it’s entirety and let Karen walk out a free woman.
